It's been the feeling customers get when consuming them. That feeling comes from the unique brand of Disney quality that very few people since Walt have been able to achieve. Sadly, many of those people have been shown the door in the years since Eisner began the belt-tightening (approximately post-Euro Disney opening). The fact that Disney has had so many Iger-style franchises (Pirates, Cars, High School Musical) has been as much being in the right place at the right time as it has been skillful preparation. What happens if Prince of Persia fizzles like Narnia did? If you think about what I said above about Disney's true product 'Quality', then you consider this whole "Six Parks One World" concept and it does seem to be throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Guests go to Disneyland and Walt Disney World for different reasons, a certain percentage make a point to visit both. Homogenizing the parks eliminates that need and, since the park's product isn't just curious, bricks, and motar but the quality of that combined with the cast members training and quality, makes Disney seem average all by itself, and why pay for Average when Quality comes along. So when it comes down to it, by Iger's misunderstanding of Disney's true franchise, by Rasulo's deliberate saming of the parks, etc, Disney is cashing in the stack of chips it bought with quality entertainment all these years. Someday that stack of chips will get low enough or someone else will build up a stack big enough to become the big player at the table.
