Neither were required to transition, although they could if they got the necessary FCC clearances. They don't have a deadline yet, but since TVs are already coming out with NO analog tuner, they are under some pressure to get on the stick. (Maybe they should have analog-to-digital converter boxes?) It is very likely that your all-infomercials all-the-time channel is indeed on autopilot, probably just a consumer-grade DVD player in loop mode. We have one of those in LA ... KLAU-LP, channel 45. We also have some Spanish-language televangelism, HSN, and a channel 6 that operates as a Spanish-language religious FM station (since the audio for analog channel 6 can be picked up on most FM radios). I actually called low-powers the cockroaches of the broadcast world on another board a couple days ago, and got chewed out for it. Apparently there are low-powers out there that do have worthwhile programming. I'll believe it when I see it. (Actually, in some of the REALLY small markets, there are network affiliates on low-power.)

I guess they were just a couple of days late making the switch. Your post did remind me of something OT but (I thought) hilarious: I was switching channels the other day and noticed that one of the televangelist stations was broadcasting a Windows Media Player error message. I checked back now and then, and it was up for at least an hour.
