It's good eating ... just not worth what they charge. ~Pass the Pixie Dust~

Michael Emerson is just a pheonomenal actor. He eats up the screen. << I feel like I'm sitting here with a bottle of Captain Jack, and listening to Art Bell reruns.

I could see that vibe ... at least on the Thursday when the place was dead and seemed rather lifeless. Now, I am sure it will look great in 2-3 weeks when Flower and Garden opens ... but it shouldn't look like crap just because it's an in between period. >> The park looked 'tired' all over. What did you do there.>> None. Sadly, I had some business to attend to off property and that plus the folks I was traveling with, plus the park's early closings prevented me from hitting the place. Almost all my time at WDW was spent at EPCOT, TPFKaTD-MGMS, DD and a few of the resorts. ~5000=The Dow's new 8500~

I will tell you that he was highly regarded by his cast and that WDW dining became world class on his watch. I can also tell you the DDP was not something he came up with ... it's pretty safe to say he might not have been its biggest fan because it seemed to go against all the great work he did. This was a plan pushed through by consultants and the team behind Destination Disney to cruise-line the Resort's dining. My gut says he likely wasn't very happy, made it known and was told that it might be a good idea to take the buyout. Someone that helped create places like Flying Fish, Jiko, Artist Point, California Grill and Citricos likely wasn't in favor of seafood restuarants that had barely any seafood on the menu or fine French locales that took off a $25 filet and replaced it with a $23 hamburger or raising the price of a veggie entree $8 in less than two years. I don't think it bodes well for Disney dining and since the plan is working, it ain't going anywhere. The DDE ... I mean Tables in Wonderland (what an F-ing stupid name) discount is a total waste since price points were raised so much and there are now so many time periods when you can't use it PLUS the 'holiday' price gouging ... so locals are totally screwed. When I am in Central Florida for almost a week and I have only two full serve meals on WDW property (and one isn't even owned/operated by Disney) that speaks volumes since dining has been one of my top reasons for visiting WDW in the past! So ... no ... Dieter leaving isn't a good thing anymore than Tom McAlpin leaving DCL and being replaced by retread Karl Holz (what a magical man he is!) ~5000=The Dow's new 8500~
