Jack did look at his nephew rather intently. I, too, was a bit surprised at Dr. Romano (sorry, that's who I'll always see him as. LOL) as Jack's brother. They must have some intense history for Jack to go straight to torture/interrogation tactics on him. I'm looking forward to learning more of that history.

I told him that if someone was threatening to kill me unless he did this thing that seemed like it would kill lots of other people, he should just let them kill me. If it was simple robbery or something like that, that's one thing. In the situations that have arisen in "24", they're much bigger issues. Reactions after Sunday night's two hours: I totally went EWWWWWW when Jack killed that guy with his bare teeth. Liking this season so far a lot but haven't actually yelled at the TV yet. Almost cried a couple of times. The look on Chloe's face when she thought she'd completely screwed up the trade! And it took me a while to figure out and then had to go back and watch the opening credits again, but Assad is Dr. Julian Bashir! Wow, can he act! I remember him being not all that great before. How things have changed. Really looking forward to next week (watching "24" live, taping "Heroes"). I did find it interesting that almost before every episode last season, they flashed a warning of: "Due to graphic violence, viewer discretion is advised." So far this season, the only warning has been "Viewer discretion is advised." I know a lot of people were hoping for Donald (scheduling issues notwithstanding), but I think it would have been a little distracting. I'd love to see Donald on the show in another role though. I'm having a hard time accepting the brother (not-Romano). I kept looking at him to see if he and Kiefer looked related - I guess Jack would be the younger brother. And yes, the relationships are going to be really interesting. When Jack finds out about everything (and you know he will eventually), he is going to be totally ticked off. I want to know their backstory. Something must have happened. I did laugh when Jack walked into his office. Jack was totally casing the room. I knew Rena Sofer would be on both "24" and "Heroes", but I totally spaced that they'd be on opposite each other. She seems awfully young for her "24" role though. /cs

At this point, I'm sure the new President Palmer would agree with you. But I'll bet by the end he will have filled his brother's shoes just fine.

Ummm, you mean because the nuclear blast happened in Valencia and probably either wiped it out or there's at least a lot of ash and/or radiation there? But in any case, vague references to spoilers are still spoilers, imo. I've heard a lot of criticism about the new president, but seriously, I think he's doing a good job. I mean, yeah, his brother had a lot to deal with as well, but having terrorists wreak 11 weeks of havoc in the States with a high body count and then exploding a nuclear bomb isn't just all in a day's work. I am also going to assume that David was involved in politics along the way before he became president. His brother didn't seem to have held an office previously, and I'm assuming his election was mostly based on his association with David and the events of last season. /cs

What I wrote didn't spoil anything for someone that hadn't seen the show yet. It would be quite a leap of faith to go from "Magic Mountain will have a bad year" to "a nuclear bomb exploded" which is a major event in 24 Season 6. MM having a bad year could mean just about anything. However, when you write "you mean because the nuclear blast happened in Valencia," it's quite a spoiler - not that it happened in Valencia, but that there was a nuclear blast at all.

Ummm, no, posting about something that happened in an episode that already aired isn't a spoiler. If someone hasn't seen a particular episode and reads this thread and finds out something that happens in the episode they haven't seen, then that's really their own fault. Heck, the people on the right coast aren't even allowed to post about the show after they've seen it because it hasn't aired on the left coast yet. But once it's aired in the Pacific time zone, everything that happens in the episode is fair game to completely discuss. /cs

I would have been annoyed it they played it out like he was a willing accomplice (sp)

I actually felt so bad for Graehm when he said he'd never turn against his dad, and Phillip said he'd always been a good son. You could see the little boy in Graehm who wanted to measure up to this brother and who was just dying for his dad's love and approval. And to watch how cold-heartedly Phillip killed Graehm. Even when Jack was instructing the basic torture of his brother, you could see how much it was hurting him to do it, and he tried to comfort him and help him even after the drug was administered. Phillip didn't seem that sad to have to kill Graehm - it was just something he had to do, and he did it matter-of-factly. I'm wondering why they just left the syringe full of the drug just lying around, and wouldn't an autopsy show that Graehm had way more of the drug than was administered to him? And I want to know if Graehm's wife knows something. Her last comment to Phillip was that Graehm better keep Josh (I think that's his name - her son) out of it. I found that to be a very strange comment. OK, so we know now why they had David and Tony and Michelle killed - that's why Graehm was involved. But how did they convince the president to be involved? Because he could then save the day and come off as a hero? Two hours next week - woo hoo! /cs
