This morning he said that he felt that this was the last season since it had lost it's "sit on the edge of your seat" and "OMG, it's over already?" feeling for him. For me, it was a gonner from the first few episodes this year.

I guess we'll find out next week what happened to Palmer. Assad looked like he was moving to shield him when he realized it was a bomb, but he was still hurt, so we'll see what the VP is going to do with his temp control. /cs

But if you look at the logic of it, if Assad had been the one to plant the bomb, why would he have rigged it to explode when *he* was the one in front of the podium rather than Wayne? Wouldn't he have done it when Wayne was closer? And why on earth would he have yelled "bomb" to alert them? One bad writing thing I noticed last night - when the Russian embassy guy finds a room to make his call to CTU, he goes through all that trouble not to be caught and then he leaves the freaking door open with his back to it? I don't accept that he would have been that stupid but it was a plot device that needed to happen so he could be silenced before he could pass along the info. They really needed to write that a different way so it's not a soap opera device. /cs

Another instance of it in this episode is when the consulate gives Jack the info, rather than Jack make the call right away from there he goes walking towards the door when he knows they are out there waiting for him. Jack wouldn't be so stupid.
