I was really unsatisfied that Phillip really didn't have to answer for anything he did, but I'm not sure if we're supposed to feel that way - the same way Jack feels. I liked Jack's outburst to Heller about what Heller had said, and that Jack had only done what Heller and people like him had asked Jack to do. It is really unfair that they go to Jack to do the unthinkable and yet he also gets blamed for doing what he has to do, what no one else can do, to get the job done. Yet Heller's words rang true as well - Jack has been entrenched in this so long that he can never really get out - he's always going to be dragged back in. There was a resolve in Jack at the end, but I don't know if letting Kim go would make him more reckless or more determined than usual. I thought at the end, Jack was going to just put the gun to his head and pull the trigger. /cs

Very predictable as it went along, although entertaining. I absolutely loved Jack's line to Heller (I may be off a word words): "As you should know, I'm pretty good at hiding, and if you send someone after me, I'll kill him, I'm pretty good at that too." That was classic. All in all, not a bad ending, though I was disappointed for the first time this season, I hope they change things up next season and it gets better.

Is it me or do you wish the news wouldn't have told us how many seasons Kiefer is signed on for? That last scene of him looking over the cliff may have created some tension of whether or not he may have jumped. I don't think he would have, it would have been out of character. But some of the suspense is taken out of the equation knowing Jack is going to live no matter what.

Well, they're gonna have to announce how many seasons the show's been picked up for. Kiefer will be there as long as the show runs. It's pretty obvious that there is no "24" without Kiefer. > Or better yet, why didn't Jack get on the boat instead of jumping onto the helicopter? I don't believe he would have been able to get far enough away on the boat in time before the missiles hit the derrick and all the shrapnel and such, whereas the helicopter is faster. /cs

Why no threats for them to get their top level agent out of our country? All we do is shadow their sub to let them know we're watching. Silly. I also wish they'd shown a shot of Jack's dad sitting there, watching the missles come in. I kept expecting them to show Dad hopping in the boat that was at the bottom of the steps, and heading out west to meet the sub. And what's up with the Chinese agent giving the FB sub-circuit board back to Jack's dad? With all he went through to get the thing, and having been already betrayed once by Jack's dad, I'd think he'd keep it near and dear. Bad writing. Isn't it a fine coincidence that the Heller compound is so close to the beach where Jack jumped from the copter? Like a 5 minute walk? And with all the setup for Jack taking her with him no matter what Heller could do, all he had to do was to hold her hand for a second to then say goodbye to her forever. Just an instant turnaround that was impossible to believe. I've really enjoyed this show from season one, last season in particular. This season was a nearly complete bust for me. I'll still be watching next year, but not for long if they don't improve quickly.
