But the four acting Oscars pretty much followed what was expected. Everyone new Alfonso Cuaron would win director. And that Gravity would take all the techinical awards.

A good teaching opportunity: "If you haven't seen the other four films, how do you know that Get a Horse was the best one?"

Enough that there was some minor FB scandal when people saw that she posted it. I don't think most people my age really know her from anything in particular, but she's the punchline of enough jokes that I feel like she's still semi-well known. Moreso than Annette at least

And now that I think of it, I'm not even sure exactly how she became famous. I know she was big in stage musicals for a while, but I don't really know which ones. Gypsy? Cabaret? Just being a general diva/icon?

I am very surprised how people like Liza Minnelli become the punch line of jokes. She's had an amazing career and is an Academy Award winner.

    Read about her <a target="blank" rel="nofollow" href="http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liza_Minnelli">http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki...Minnelli</a>
She's been bestowed with Tony awards and is really quite a performer. She was on Letterman maybe 5 years ago and just blew the roof off the place.

It's like how Bea Arthur became some weird punch line for people.

Stars have their moments and their careers have ups and downs -- Liza - with a Z - is not in trial here!!!

    As for Travolta

"in the few hours since the broadcast, there has been some backlash against the Adele Dazeem jokes.

According to critics, John's flub was a result of his dyslexia, and it's not nice to tease someone for a learning disability. That's bullying!

While we whole-heartedly agree that mocking someone's learning disability is insensitive and uncalled for, here's the thing- John doesn't claim to be dyslexic. In fact, according to Scientology he can't have the reading disorder- because dyslexia isn't even real!"
