    As I said, there are some better experiences at WDW. EPCOT is a better overall experince than DCA. DLR doesn't have a DAK equivalent at all, so that extra choice are a bonus. It doesn't matter that EPCOT and DAK aren't 100% superb in quality, because I can say that about DLR as well.

    <<I still beg to differ.>>

    As is your right. Just remember we are talking about opinions here, not facts.

    That's because he has not caused any damage...yet.

    "Some" being the choice word. But I will take good old Original DL park (sans DCA) over the other 4 WDW parks combined. ...and that is a fact.

    -Tomorrowland Terrace (with cool animated rainbow lights on top of the service counter)
    -The Kids of the Kingdom's "Disney World is your World" show.

    Etc etc etc...''

    I miss them all too ... heck, I even miss the tobacco shop and I hate smoking. But it did smell good in there.

    How about (to add to your list):
    Adventureland Veranda watching the Swan Boats go by while eating Terriyaki burgers with pineapple;

    The orginal Frontierland RR station.

    The Davy Crockett canoes.

    2 a.m. summer closings when the park was packed until very late because no one had to get up for things like early entry or character meals since they didn't exist.

    That big patch of greenery where Toontown Faire is now.

    The hot dog stand (Station BReak) under the train station that was always open until everyone was gone.

    The option of getting a Coke or a Pepsi at the same location (as an aside can you imagine the CMs trying to get that straight today?).

    The Rivers of America without the huge bird-waste encrusted walkway added when Splash Mountain opened.

    The Town Square Cafe.

    Real food on Tom Sawyer's Island.

    The old RCA postshow on Space Mountain touting laserdisks.

    The Hall of Presidents in its original, non-partisan, form.

    Space Mountain in the dark, not what passes for it today.

    Pretty much any/every shop that existed pre-1990.

    Sweepers in queues.

    Entertainment when it meant something other than character greets and autograph sessions.

    (and leaving the MK)

    Treasure Island;
    Top of the World Sunday brunch and dinner shows;
    Tangaroa Terrace;
    Empress Lilly;

    ...the list is endless.

    Actually, I would too... and unlike barboy, I would even take DL over TDL. Why? because it's "home" to me, and Walt's personal playground. It has a soul that can't be found anywhere else. TDL is clean, and has a wonderful CM corps, but the park has a coldness to it that is logically unexplainable. I guess I would say it suffers from being a clone... it's like comparing Paris to Paris in Las Vegas. Paris LV may be clean and not have any rude people, but it's still not the City of Lights.

    Indeed Luv!!! So many great things to do, now lost to future generations of Disney fans.

    I have always chosen TDL over DL when examined as a whole, which includes the one items you mentioned before, but that may be because TDL has always been more a mirror image of WDW's MK, which was the park I grew up at and worked in.
    TDL represents to me what the MK was in it's glory days, and to this day, TDL gives me the satisfaction that the MK used to give me in years past. *THAT* is the emotional connection I feel to TDL. However... if you ask me which park to go if you had to choose...that would be DL hands down. You just can't not find a more charming, elegant and wondrous DL park on Earth. As for TDL being cold... that is a feel many expressed due to TDL's expansiveness, but to me...I don't feel that way about it at all. Too many tears of joy have been shed at TDL to dismiss it with such vague statement as that of being a cold park, which coincidently is my opinion of Disney/MGM and WDSP.

Going from any given WDW park to most hotels can be time consuming and tiring as well. And doing a full walk around Epcot's showcase lake is quite a treck. At DLR everything is proximal. But I can sympathize with those who have an issue with DLR being right smack in the middle of a megalopolis-- it does detract from the feeling of being on a legitimate vacation.

As opposed to that, I feel that DLRP, WDW and HKDL are too time comsuming to get to/from.

    Again.. what I have been saying here. "Bigger does not make WDW better" I am not surprised you and I agree on this...but it sure is hard to explain.

    No different than the dining choices in NYC are better than in podunk Idaho -as although there are bad places, there are some very very good ones.

    btw -- there are 6500 Taco Bells and 30,000 + McDonalds so mickey D's would be the best on that theory.

    By the way what I was saying earlier was that I would easily take TDR (which is Disney Sea and Tokyo Disneyland) over WDW, DLR And Universal Orlando put together.

    Well.. He also smoked and wore a mustache.. two things I detest at WDW of today. So your point is? Because as far as I know...such a visionary man as he was, he should have known better and prevent the problem before it occured. But he didn't.

    Are you talking about the smoking? Yes, but at that point in time when it killed him, smoking was still more-or-less acceptable. The medical profession knew it was bad, but it wasn't widely seen as deadly as it is now.

    If you're talking about the land issue, there is no way he could have foreseen that the surrounding area to DL would end up as it did, and even if he could have, I don't think he had the money to buy much more land.
