I'm concerned about businesses being sued for having no knowledge if the rape occurred.

I asked on what grounds would they drag their employer into court? You don't seem to have an answer and instead keep lobbing these vague generalities.

At some point, i would have to produce some sort of evidence that shows that my company was somehow complicit in the rape, not just because it happened on company property. If I am to get a financial settlement from the company, my lawyers must prove that the company somehow had a legitimate way of preventing the rape, or somehow attempted to cover it up, or tried to stop me reporting it, or something. If a company did none of that, and there is no evidence to prove otherwise, it would never reach a trial. I'm sure STPH can explain it better than I.

Big, fat, huge qovernment contracts. Not your local Baskin-Robbins franchise. But be that as it may, you would prefer that even when a company actively engaged in a coverup of this sort, that should be okay? Because that's the "counter" position to this legislation. Come on, Dar. You're arguing to argue at this point.

What I want is for companies to be protected for not having any chance of having a lawsuit filed against it if it didn't have knowledge of what occurred. This legislation might apply to those with government contracts but eventually it will catch up to other businesses.

You never answered this. A person can't just declare "I sue you!" and the company must go to court. There has to be some reason, some violation (real or not) that they are claiming the company engaged in for them to be liable in any way. Give me some examples of what an individual would charge the company with.

No you'd rather believe that we're in this for a buck, well look a little deeper.

I am glad your company gives to charity. That's marvelous. Really, it is. I don't know what the hell it has to do with the topic at hand, but hey, thanks for sharing.
