If what you're saying is true and they will hold off on any announcements until the release of the new movie, wouldn't that affect MiceChat's claims?

I'm glad to hear this will be going on even around the holidays. That's about the time we'll be moving down there and won't miss it yyyeeeaaahhhh!

Why do MiceAge's claims carry more weight than the CEO of the company? Remember when Iger stated that the Subs were returning after their rehab last year, and people wondered if he was being truthful because MiceAge asserted that the Subs's closure was a cost savings measure while WDI developed plans for an Ewok Village to replace it?

They also claim that Iger has been in the parks very little. >>Take HBG returning, that rumor has been going on since HMH started.<< Well, in this case, there is that "temporary" wall they put in. They claim that the Hatbox Ghost may or may not be finally making his debut.

Originally Posted By Dabob2 <Probably because MiceAge claims that they have connections with Imagineering,> Yeah... but time to break out that grain of salt again. Miceage started with a decidedly mixed track record when it came to predictions and pronouncements; there was a period (around the end of Al's tenure) where their hit-to-miss percentage did go up (though certainly not 100%; and now it's gone back down again. It could be (and this is itself a rumor) that Tony Baxter was Al's big leaker, and now with neither one in his former position, it's more erratic again. Even if one has an "in" in imagineering (or thinks one does), the rumor spread can be wrong - intentionally or unintentionally - sometimes plans DO get changed at the last minute (and sometimes that's used as a convenient excuse)... As Hans says, it's amazing that the reminder remains necessary, but ALL of these sites deal in rumors, everything is subject to change, and we should take everything reported with a grain or 10 of salt. I just wish MiceAge would be consistent about reporting rumors as rumors and not so quick to say something is "definite" (as in the subs closing). <They claim that the Hatbox Ghost may or may not be finally making his debut.> Yeah, and when they do that, it's fine. They report something that MIGHT happen, which can be fun to think about and discuss, and cover their butts at the same time in case it doesn't. It may sound mealy-mouthed ("this may or may not be happening"), but that's the nature of the beast - all these things are tentative till they get the final go-ahead.

Yes, all sites deal in rumors, but MiceChat seems to always have the upper hand (accurate or not). They obviously have more inside connections than LaughingPlace or people here wouldn't be constantly referring to MiceChat posts. LP posters need to develop their own reliable sources so that THEY can be the go-to people for accurate information.
Originally Posted By Dabob2 <Yes, all sites deal in rumors, but MiceChat seems to always have the upper hand (accurate or not).> No, not really. I've seen other sites scoop them and/or come out with the real deal while MiceAge was insisting on something that didn't happen. <They obviously have more inside connections than LaughingPlace or people here wouldn't be constantly referring to MiceChat posts.> LP isn't really in the rumor business. So if you want to talk about rumors here, you refer to MiceAge or Screamscape or some other site (or, less helpfully, "I heard that...") LP tends to wait till things are announced. Apple and orange.

Since his departure the rhetoric has been toned down but they've been less successful with their predictions. If they want Disney fans to take them seriously maybe they should stop supporting rumors that the CEO claims are false. Of course if they didn't continue to stir up controversy traffic to their site would slow down considerably...

Like I said, though, this is just me.
