LOL. To be honest your Jetsons example looks more like what we have now:

To me it resembles an aging shopping center that someone tried to update by using a "modern" color palette more than "the world of tomorrow", which is what it's supposed to be, I guess. Actually, does anyone know what TL is actually meant to represent these days?

Tomorrowland really seemed into using the red and blue scheme over the past 20 years.

Ummm...the Space Needle originally was red and orange. It only got the all-white paint job after the World's Fair was over. Given that WDW's TL is heavily influenced by the Googie architecture of the Fair, I think it's only fitting that a similar color scheme be used on it.

I think it's tacky and irrelevant, but that's just my opinion.

Have you seen photos of the new paint job on the Innoventions buildings? It leaves a lot to be desired IMO, but it's certainly not boring!

Sure, there are landmark buildings here and there using similar styles, but not entire cities. I think people would find it lacking in warmth and humanity over the long term.

I actually kind of like it, though would find it somewhat jarring being so different from everything else in Future World.

    Thanks for posting the link.

Agreed. Shouldn't TL look forward instead of backward?

I certainly think so. But we're caught in this weird place where avid Disney fans are nostalgic about the past, even when it comes to "tomorrow". As if the 60s version of tomorrow is the best we can come up with.

I think we (they) can do better....

When you take into consideration that when CoP was first developed the only electronics that existed were Black & White TV's sprinkled in with a few Color sets that were mostly the color of green and handheld transistor radios that sounded like scraping your fingernails across a chalkboard.

Over time things changed and technological advancements happened faster then the speed of sound. What started out as an attempt to predict the future became impossible. They tried, but, failed to be able to "guess" what the future would bring. I-pads certainly were in no ones vision no matter how good their vision might have been.

Everyone should just stop wishing, wanting and hoping that a place like Tomorrowland or Epcot can no longer achieve that lofty goal.

They use something very like iPads on Star Trek.
