Agreed. Most noticable difference for me is Tomorrowland, but even things like the Aladin spinner or Woody's Round-up or Main Street being turned into one giant World of Disney...

And, when it opened, there was a deliberate effort to keep characters out of EPCOT Center (except Figment, who was original and theme--appropriate). It was a huge deal when just the Fab 5 were allowed in.

Yep. Contained synergy. Not Tomorrowland, not Adventureland, FANTASYLAND. And even then, only the fairytales. Save the rest for DHS. Or a Hollywoodland.

I don't agree that much. As long as it fits, it's cool, IMO. Just no more freaking toons.

    I love the imagery here.

I'm picturing Mickey and his friends, with pitchforks and torches, being barred from Epcot lol.

The reality was, Disney tried to separate Epcot from the characters and the paying public wouldn't have it.

And so the characters were "rolled out" (not "allowed in" ;p).

**Now they are like a cancer**

Seriously Dave...your level of vitriol towards kids in rubber suits is disturbing.

    Seriously.

Why do you ALWAYS have to be so negative about Tokyo Disneyland dude?

Seriously, what do you have against Tokyo Disneyland anyway!?

Yes, kind of, should be working.

But yes, I feel the Disney experience has been raped, pillaged and plundered. And if you haven't guessed, I like language to be emotive, that is part of why it exists ;-)

I do too... but I think he's no better than UNM. Worse, in fact. At least the birds fit.

Who is being negative about Tokyo? Tokyo looks great.

I just don't think that Stitch has any semblance of belonging in a land that centers around indigenous culture and colonialism.

That's a lame and pathetic excuse for poor upkeep and staffing by Disney. And it is, ONLY, an excuse.<<<<<<<

It may well be lame but it is reality. If the crowd is large and they are all slobs then no matter how hard you try, they are going to win. You are outnumbered and the rest of us can bitch until the cows come home, it doesn't change that fact. If I were to walk in early or pass by the same mess 20 minutes later then I would be the first to point an accusing finger at Disney for it, but in this case reality dictates that somethings are not always completely controllable.

I have heard much criticism about this topic and have yet to hear any solution other than expanding the work force and all in the same breath complaints about how much everything costs. They go hand in hand, take your pick, which one is the lesser of evils.

One other thread states..."this is not your Daddy's Disney"...correct this is also not your Daddy's society either and, in my opinion, 90% of the problem starts right there.
