We are going in May too and are disappointed that our favorite ride...Splash Mountain will be closed. BUT we also didn't get to ride Matterhorn in the fall when it was closed. So we will be trading one ride for the other. We love to go during off-season because of the low crowds, but of course that means more ride closures.

It needs to be a really warm day for us to do splash. We are getting more picky in our old age. hehe

I go over Veteran's day, spring break, President's day, and a week during peak summer time. Also a few trips during the slow time. The family doesn't mind the crowds and we've never had a bad trip (no Leary reference there). We follow a simple plan. Get there early, get the fastpasses whenever possible. You'll be fine.

Yes, I wish it were open longer but boy is it nice not to have to stand in hour long lines. On off season we can get double the rides in when there are short hours compared to the long lines and long hours of the peak times..........

Besides, if the park becomes more crowded for some reason, DL will extend the hours. They did this during the first week of the year.

When the park closes early, we play hard all day, have a late dinner and call it a night by 9:30 so we can hit the park running when it opens the next morning.

Have fun. Maybe I'll bump into in May -- we are going the first week, too, specifically because the hours are shorter.
