An update: Jamie had a slightly rough time of it last weekend, and started having difficulty breathing on Sunday. Finally, after midnight, we headed back to the ER. She was not in any danger-- just really uncomfortable. Two days later they did a paracentesis-- drained a lot of fluid off her abdomen. Checked it out-- found nothin', got ready to send us home again. An oncologist took an interest in her case, and yesterday did a laparoscopy (sent little cameras into her tummy through three small incisions). Best news of the day: there is no trace of cancer in whatever is causing the "discomfort." So here we sit-- wondering what is going on, but secure that it isn't her heart, it isn't internal bleeding, and it isn't cancer. But what is it? And... they are talking about sending us home today.

I was in a coma for 4 days. Turns out it's a common reaction -gak. I'm not saying that Jamie is on this particular drug, but it's amazing how common things just don't mix. {{{Jamie}}}

The body can react in strange ways when the brain starts to freak out. Most likely I'm wrong (I'm NOT a doctor, obviously!), but I would look into every angle if I were you, including possible psychiatric complications (those are as real as physical symptoms sometimes, and I'm NOT by any means dismissing the physical side of things the docs seem unable to diagnose...just sort of trying to think about the condition from all possible angles). I wish VERY much for her quick return to good health! And I wish the best for you both!
