It a coaster in the dark, with minimal themeing and effects. The only thing that wreck has going for it at the moment is nostalgia, and it's never had that for me. Call me when they give it a proper treatment. It has so much potential.

Definitely a great attraction. But I've now ridden countless times and don't have to on every visit, especially since there's so little else I enjoy. Besides, you can (and I have) enjoy ToT in Anaheim, Paris Tokyo as well. And, sadly, my friend who was at O-Town's Tower Monday said the queue area was really in bad shape.

The show condition is laughable. So many things don't work or work partially. I've always preferred DL's, but now there's not even a question. WDW's version is sad ... it almost looks like they'd like to kill it off (and no, fanbois, it isn't to add WoC instead!)

But I'll also say that many people feel that if something isn't a favorite of theirs (or their circle of influence) than they extrapolate that to the masses. It's why some folks will diss the Harry Potter series (or Star Wars for that matter)as something that will just be popular for a short time ... and while others will try and convince you that Tron and/or Tangled are more popular than they are.

The coaster design is still top notch, it just needs to be completely rebuilt and smoothed out.

Sure, some thematic elements can be redone (like the queue's windows) but as a whole, Space Mountain needs to be brought into the 21st century for it to be taken seriously. It's a painful joke as it is, right now.

I could go years without going to the Studios or MK and be fine ... but I'll always enjoy EPCOT or DAK ... even if all I am doing is walking around as they're such beautiful environments. I've long since past my 'gotta do the rides' mentality at WDW (only Disney resort I can say that about really), so atmosphere, food/beverage, entertainment are more important. TPFKaTD-MGMS and MK come up way behind EPCOT and DAK in this department.

So much so I didn't eve step foot in DAK while I was there the past 6 days.

Of course, they miss the point that much of the retro stuff has been marked at lower price points and is being bought by tourists strictly based on cost and not because some 'rube' (first use in 2011) from Ohio who wasn't alive in 1980 somehow has a connection with WDW's original logo. People are buying the Potter stuff because they love Potter and it's quality themed merchandise. They'll do the same for years to come if UNI keeps providing it. Not to take your point off on a tangent, but I did anyway! ;-)

A 28 mph ride that feels like 100 mph because of the dark and the environment. Simply riding through it on the People Mover still gets me as excited as when I was a preteen and checking it out for the first time.

I mean, I'm slightly despondent over the fact that SWSA might be going the way of the do-do, as it's a opening day attraction. My beef with it is all the adoration for it. In this state, what's so great about it? Why does it get all this attention? I was chided by several spirits and selves [ ;-) ] for not riding it in a few years... Why?! It was a anticlimactic waste of time... The same one I was on in 2005. Also, it's VERY painful. I might not be able to have children now. TMI? LOL. SM has a ton of potential, and a ton of history. But right now, its a highly unfortunate waste. Even if the dome is darker and the queue more sleek.

Yes I recognize the driving skill, but that doesn't it something I needed to see more than once (although I have). As for Space Mountain, its a fun wild mouse. But for that ride experience I prefer Matterhorn and I don't have to wait in a 90 minute or longer line for that except on the busiest of days. You want a thrilling coaster ride in the dark, get thee to the opposite coast and ride Space Mountain done right. This is coming from a DLR regular who would rather go to WDW.
