That got a laugh out of me. Not to mention we know Bin Laden, if he were planning an attack on Epcot, would only refer to the "big golf ball."

Also, completely off subject (not like that's a new thing), but are CMs discouraged from calling SSE "the big golf ball"? Seems like that would break with Disney lexicon, and we know how uptight they get about names. I remember when I was a CM reading some document that encouraged us to use the COMPLETE name for the resorts and parks. Like "Disney-MGM Studios" as opposed to "MGM". Okay, that's reasonable. But they also wanted us to say "Disney's Contemporary Resort" or "Disney's Polynesian Resort" or "Disney's All-Star Music Resort" when talking to guests. I doubt many CMs use the full, official names, but it seems like "big golf ball" is the complete opposite of what the higher-ups would want CMs to be saying.

As do I. And I know a lot of the trivia books make a point to tell you how tall a person would have to be to play golf with Spaceship Earth. I just find it funny that Disney thinks official names are so important and then they do the whole "golf ball" routine.

Of course, this is the same company that thought guests needed to see the word "Epcot" over the golf ball to know where they were. "Spaceship Earth" might be a bit much for those guests.

They do seem to be more formal with their titles that have the name Disney in them.

    True.
We should probably prepare for "Disney's Spaceship Earth at Disney's Epcot Theme Park at Disney's Walt Disney World Resort."

Don'tcha mean "Disney's Big Golf Ball at Disney's Epcot Theme Park at Disney's Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida."

    Gotta help the slow guests.

We're having a Doom and Gloom Socitey meeting this evening. He's probably at home trying to decide what to wear.

A problem that I see increasingly, especially outside of mission space and around future world is the cracks in the concrete, the red mainly. But hey, who notices stuff like that?

That could be used for so many of the attractions. Shame so many Brits are pulled to the swamps time and time again having never set foot in the European resort. Is that the marketing or fear of the language?

Hmmmmm, what makes DLP great is the original design and the restaurants. Sadly upkeep is not great - the geysers and the pirate ship are rotting away. Not cool. Then again, we keep getting the bone headed WDW management cast offs, it all started with Rasulo making the place worse, and look at his meteoric rise.

It's all fun and games till the tacos gets mentioned...

Among each other its as short as we acceptably can make it (Coaster/Tower/Poly/Studios/MK/DAK/Lodge/Fort etc) but with guests its usually the full or longer name but its never I'm attending a meeting in the Ballroom of the Americas A at Disney's Contemporary Resort...
