Why did they bring the poor girl to WDW in the first place if they were going to just leave her to get heat exhaustion? Hadn't they thought of taking her ON THE RIDE with them? Or, baby swap? Geez, the lack of any kind of common sense is really scary. More scary for the little girl who now has to figure out why she's not living with mommy and daddy anymore.

I also used to work at the Disney Store, only on 5th Avenue in NYC, so we saw a lot of international tourists. Lack of common sense is not stricly an American trait, I can tell you. I remember one incident where a little French boy was lost and completely beside himself that he couldn't find his parents. Well, after taking him aside and trying to find them, all of the managers were notified and we did a sweep of the store. When his parents did show up, they seemed like they couldn't care less, and proceeded to berate the boy because he dared get lost. They obviously had more interest in shopping that watching their kid, and being worried about him.

My wife used to work at Sesame Place in high school and she told me that at least a few times during the summer a parent would abandon their child in the park.

One time at the Haunted Mansion an infant was left in a stroller in the hot sun. The Cast Members moved the stroller to a shady spot and called security. When the guests left the ride they were upset that the infant was moved and they had to be escorted out of the park. I don't know whether or not they were arrested or anything.

When I was working at DCA, we found a small child who was lost. When we finally tracked down his mom, she was mad at him for getting lost.

To put a topper on it, later in the day another kid from the same party ended up getting lost. Security was notified and I'm not sure if the police got involved or not.

I know I just broke my own rule about calling people "idiot" or "stupid", but I think anyone who endangers a child in this way so they can ride a Disney attraction fits the bill pretty closely.

Same thing about arrests especially with people leaving kids in hot cars while they are at the Casino.
I went through six years of not being able to have children so you can imagine how I feel when hearing all these stories. I would have given anything to have anybody's baby!!!!!

The intent here is clear, total self-absorbtion. PotC is an all access ride no need to leave anyone behind. This will not be the last time something of this nature happens to this wee one. When she spun the "Wheel of Parents" she landed on the bankrupt.

The sad ending to this story is that these morally bankrupt morons most likely got the child back and aside for a few "home" visits will retain custody.

I can't bring myself to call them parents as I hold that title in high esteem. After raising 3 crumcrunchers to adulthood I appreciate how insanely difficult it is to be a parent.

Selflessness and personal responsiblity are fast becoming distant memories. How sad.:(

If I'm walking past and I see a baby locked in a car on a hot day, I'm smashing that window open, grabbing that kid(not taking it) and calling 911.

    Wow...just, wow...

They need to leave HER locked in the car with the windows up and not allow her to get out...see how she copes with the heat. Come on, it's a baby, a very fragile baby...UGH!

When the Police got there was when the "mom" came out of the store and she started pitching a fit, complaining about her broke car window. The Police Officer told her to shut the Heck up, that is when we left. I hope he arrested her. Some people make some very stupid choices in life.
