That whole "Iraq is a total disaster area" thing might just be on the Democrats side too.

"They don't seem to understand this is a business," he says. "If you can't pay your bills, none of the rest matters. "I have nothing against Air America, but when you seem to think you don't have to pay your creditors because you're on a higher mission that's more important, you lose my sympathy." Critics have blasted Air America as a one-note, Bush-bashing Democratic mouthpiece, and while that's a mirror of what conservative talk radio is sometimes called, several top conservative hosts said AA's problem is simpler. "They're haters and no one listens," said Bill O'Reilly on WOR (710 AM). "They got what they deserved." "It's not that they're not funny enough or anything else," said Rush Limbaugh of WABC (770 AM). "They just aren't any good. You can't just put idiots on the radio and expect 20 million listeners." Noting AA's $4 million in assets, Limbaugh joked, "I have more in my checking account." <<

Yes, Iraq is too. Yes, the world is not happy with us. Fine. OK, now what do we do to fix it? Oh, I know, let's complain some more. Who needs to listen to that all the time?

Glaser, who once served as chairman of Air America, holds a 36.7 percent stake in the company. Glaser resigned as director of the network's parent company Friday. Horn said Scott Elberg had been named as its new chief executive. Elberg has been at the network since 2005. "Nobody likes filing for bankruptcy," he said in a statement. But... if one were cynical enough, it would be possible to believe the intent is to stick around through the mid term elections. This, of course, is predicated on the notion that the investors in question still believe that AirAmerica is somehow having a discernible effect on the outcome of the elections. If, on the other hand, the investors are actual businessmen, they may be propping this thing up in order to sell it. It would be a bit difficult to sell the assets of a broadcast entity that wasn't actually broadcasting, after all.
