That's a real shame Here we have a similar rule to the US - if you have 'activity' once a year or something you keep your points. I have a frequent flyer credit card, so I have 'activity' (sometimes far, far too much activity) every month!

There are claims that there may be a reduction soon as jets are now leaving empty to keep their slots at Heathrow. I'll believe it when I see it. Needless to say, DLP only costs us about $300 as a family to get to, compared to $3360 for the US and $6000 to Tokyo. I think my children will be improving their French over the coming years.

LAX has a lot of capacity with BA (3x daily) Virgin (2x), United, American and now Air France (yup - from London!). We use United for work and I've not seen any increase in LAX fare for years. We actually paid more in '95 on American than I have ever paid since (and I'm on a LHR-LAX flight usually every few weeks).

BA definitely don't do that - I've got something like 1.2m BA miles in my account which is the accumulation of several years. I don't fly Virgin so can't comment on that but I'd be very surprised if it is any different.
