I wanted to stay at the Contemporary Hotel so I have to get two rooms to fit my family, which will come to about $750 a night. For less than that I could have gotten a 2 br suite at Saratoga Springs. So... I don't understand how they could be building timeshares at all the deluxe resorts. Sure'ly there won't be that much demand at such high prices/points? And then, wouldn't the glut of DVC units devalue the regular deluxe resort rooms? How will it work?

SS hasn't sold nearly as well as they expected ... and there's that 'thing' going up on the shores of Bay Lake. I also know Anaheim (and likely Hawaii) will see DVC before GF and Poly. The fact our economy is so lousy certainly doesn't help either. <<I don't see DVC as very high-end, just family vacation units. >> I absolutely agree. High end suites at hotels in no way compare to the nicely appointed DVC units. But I don't believe they even compare to other major timeshares I've stayed in. Two: the Hilton Grand Vacation Club in Las Vegas and the Hyatt Vacation Club in Key West absolutely blow away DVC in terms of quality, furnishings, appointments etc ... DVC, to me, is a very middle-class, mid-market timeshare. Nothing wrong with that, but to compare them with high end suites at deluxe resorts (WDW and elsewhere) is like comparing apples and cheese.

But it certainly didn't match the level of service (or the great breakfast) of my favorite London Bed and Breakfast! (and that cost us $104 last September for 2 of us!)

I would imagine that it wasn't nearly what they have today. But I have never tried Marriott. I have tried Hilton and Hyatt and their properties are like a tamarind filet at the California Grill, while DVC is more like a luncheon strip steak at Le Cellier. Both good, but not in the same class.

I don't think I can keep up the weekly updates, but maybe 2 - 3 times a month starting next year. I have quite a bit I plan to put up by then, so hopefully that will generate enough visits (which it seems to be anyway). And I always enjoy TDL Fans photos! Especially to places I've never been, you can always post links in any thread I have anywhere. Denise
