Things like this should be devoted to DtD or the DLH grounds.

I see some lessons are hard to learn.

The Tahitian Terrace was a full fledged restaurant that had appeal to adults, teens, kids, grand parents. And it ran all day long.

Today the facility is good for kids only, and the showings are limited.

Over at Plaza Pavilion .. It's a part-time trading pin area. Whereas before it was a full-time restaurant like the Plaza Inn that served hundreds to thousands throughout the day.

Capacity is such an incredible issue to contend with Disneyland.

And nothing to be approved on designer's desks that does not soak up LOTS of people!

I disagree that new attractions do not increase attendance. Anecdotal evidence (huge crowds, long lines, etc.) suggests that a new attraction will create a "bump" in attendance. I cannot imagine that anyone would argue with that.

Long term, the problem with increasing attendance at Disneyland (to be specific) is that there is a finite capacity for growth. As has been pointed out previously, Disneyland has been fairly consistent in numbers for many years now.

BUT... when one looks at periods of no growth, or decreased attendance, it is the case that these coincide with time periods when there were no new attractions. So... attractions will create a temporary burst in attendance, and contribute, long term, to increased attendance, inasmuch as the park will bear.

(I also believe that attractions alone will not ensure either increased attendance or stable numbers. Parks also need to periodically refresh retail and dining options as well. Disneyland placed a great emphasis on retail during the Pressler era. Dining has been upgraded in recent years. These are aften overlooked by the "E Ticket or Bust" crowd.)

Those available in my youthful heydays (1985 to 1995) were much better--nothing hoity-toity, just a good, fried up burger, served in a box. Nowadays, all you get is a dry, drab, 1/3 pound (!--why so big? In-n-Out doesn't go anywhere near that, and their burgers are scrumptious!) lifeless thing that's served open-air (as if that helps keep it either clean or warm).

Yuck. My hamburger days at Disneyland are officially over.

Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

The fastest-of-the-fast food options at the resort are almost inedible.

The Tokyo Disney Resort logo incorporates aspects of both the Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea logos, much in the way the original Disneyland Resort logo did with Disneyland Park and Disney's California Adventure. In my opinion, the current Disneyland Resort logo does a better job of representing Disneyland Park than it does the Resort as a whole.

Anahiem Disney Resort, anyone? Or how about the Anahiem Disney Resort of Los Angeles? xD
