I could be misinterpreting this, but I don't think so. < actually this has quieted down a lot over the past few years here and DVC 'bashing' per se has pretty much stopped. The main complaint a few years ago was that DVC had a direct cause and effect on maintenance at other WDW resorts. After a while I think all parties realized that it neither directly caused this, not was it exempt from being part of the unitigated growth of WDW that did have an effect on resort maintenance. Most people here have been living happily ever after on DVC ( with interludes about either liking or not liking new resorts as they are built)-. As an initial DVC owner ( and subsequent additional share buyer) - I can say another source of friction ( in my opinion) was that DVC sort of infringed on the locals - offered many of the same perks and creating a different cross section of visitor than before. For locals, buying into DVC makes little if any sense, so it i not something they would spend a lot of time thinking postiively about, and I understand that. Now AP's and DVC get many of the same preview opportunities, DDE discount - and heck for my first 7 years of ownership I had free park passes whenever I wanted to go. So my take is that is why there was also some 'friction' initially. Now most here realize that many ( not all) DVC owners are extremely loyal Disney visitors and share many of the same concerns over lowered maintenance, removing E ticket attractions like 20K and replacing it with a Builders Square level playground, hits taken by the live actor shows, and we loathe the Wand and where the Hat is placed as much as the locals. therefore I don't think there is any jealousy from most of the posters that oaccasionally include DVC in a rant - as most could own if they wanted to, it just doesn't make financial sense for those who live around there ( or for others also- as DVC is a great deal in my opinion, if the buyer meets a number of criteria that make it work, but not for all) - just my 2 cents ( and more) as usual

It explains A LOT!

If he is thinking of writing a book, a regular column will only raise his visibility as a Disney authority and boost sales. I doubt he will run out of material. WDW has A LOT of problems and they keep adding more everyday. So come on, Spirit, reconsider. It will help WDW, it will help the fans, and it will help you. Do what you can.

And rest assured, WDW officials really wouldn't like me to write about the good, bad and the very ugly sides of the Mouse.
