Not that I'm obsessed with geese, but it will prove the point in a nice, obvious, impossible to dispute manner. Or does having 2 geese instead of 6 also improve IASW's relevance?

OK, I'll go ahead and get the premium AP for the parking, but I'll not ride IASW.......that much. And I definitely won't buy any IASW plush! Except I am a really huge Baloo fan and the HK IASW Baloo is soooo cute. No. OK, just that one. That will teach them to mess with the classics.

Simply, its a classic and should be spruced up. At the same time, I also believe that certain characters would git it. That is, if they blend them in, rather than have them stand out. The characters that I can think of off the top of my head; Alaadin and Jasmin, Mulan, Lilo and Stitch, Peter Pan. Each one of these would fit in nicely with the corresponding areas. Disney has made animated movies for kids and adults. These same characters is what built the company, just as much as the park did. I'm just going to sit back and see what happens.

You're fine with the characters being added, you're fine with the soundtrack being futzed up, you're fine with the rainforest being shoved into a corner to make way for a big America room, you're fine with the geese breaking down and not being replaced ... Would you be just as fine with a flume running through an empty building?

While it is not my favorite attraction I have a great deal of respect for it and the artists that created it. I'm firmly in the camp of restore, but if they had to add characters I would prefer choices that go beyond disney marketing in reasoning. Mulan and Pocahantas are historic figures from China and the US respectively. Alice and Peter are characters from famous english literature. Cindy, Belle and Snow are from western Europen folklore. Stitch, Buzz, Woody, and Jesse are from....uh...famous....uh..Disney films?

The OP is entitled to NOT like IASW but still "feel the magic" at DL. Personally, some may say the attraction is juvenile(in both its participants and the simplistic manner in which it apparently proposes world unity or whatever such guff)amd a bit too twee. I know a lot of non-Americans have less of a stomach for the twee and saccharine elements of the Disney parks. I remember reading a comment in The Unofficial Guide from a UK traveller where he states the American propensity for suspending disbelief and making oneself a child again(in relation to the original "Imagination"). Some other cultures just cannot hook into this very sugary and unrealistic world view. I would not be surprised if there were also some Americans who have a hard time of it either - because, going AGAINST the sugary message of IASW, not ALL of us are actually the same.

Oh but I DID love what he called Sklar and the old curator. If they're going to treat fans like rubes, they can be called what they really are.

Let us examine the poster's statement and my response: *****do any of you die-hard IASW fans ***** ok, I'll put myself in that category and answer his question *****actually think ***** as opposed to lying to myself I guess *****this ride connects with ANYONE under the age of 30? ***** if "connects" includes "appeals to", "resonates with," "charms," "delights," or delivers satisfying experience," then the answer to his question is a resounding YES. This is based on my personal experience with myself when I was under 30 and my own family members under the age of 30. **ANYONE** is capitalized, implying that nobody on the planet under the age of 30 could conceivably connect with this ride. Pretty strongly worded. The people in my acquaintance who are/were under 30 have a much greater capacity not only for "twee" (great word, I looked it up) but in my opinion, magic in general than this poor poster. My 10-year old will tell you that the tooth fairy came a few days ago, and my 11 year old will argue with you that there must be a Santa Claus because he brought us a Wii and her parents would never do that. So yes, my observation stands, that there is more magic in our lives and at our house. And we like it that way.

My personality is such that when I see something being put up as a sacred cow, I am gonna throw spit balls at it. Doesn't mean I also don't like it for WHAT IT IS - a nice ten minute diversion with a catchy tune(and yes, unlike so many out there I love and have ALWAYS LOVED the song!)in a boat through a cool building. I was simply saying that just because the OP doesn't like it, doesn't mean he feels less magic at DL than you.
