Please report back to this thread in July and let us know what the wait looks like. With all the WoC hype and the assumption that attendance will increase, I would be shocked if the show isn't at or near capacity during every performance.

I do agree with you though Hista that a new show would be nice. However, I would prefer that it not be another Pixar based project. I really loved the music and storyline of Princess and The Frog (I know I'm surprised too). If Disney must do shows based on its character franchises this would be a good one.

Completely disagree. I still enjoy both of these shows, and they both play to mostly full houses several times a day.

    Why change what's working?

Your ideas are intriguing to me and I wish to subscribe to your newsletter. Although this is the kind of project that would go straight to Broadway.

Doesn't it periodically go into new editions?

I have seen Aladdin more times than I care to count. Love the show, but I haven't set foot in the theater for at least a year, if not more. Yes, I would like to see a new show. Toy Story? Fine. Musical review? Sure. Just make it a show as good, or better, than Aladdin. If it doesn't look like it will be at that level, keep Aladdin. It's the best theme park show I've ever seen.

That's the point. Toy Story the Musical, which is coming direct from a Disney Cruise production, is not at the same level as Aladdin, including the storyline, the staging, the music, the special effects and the diversity of the cast. Aladdin is strong in it's staging, musical offerings of more than one recognizable and pleasantly memorable song, and special effects that utilizes the stage as well as the ceiling over the audience. The show was designed by specifically for DCA, and specifically for the Hyperion Theater, by a Broadway theater director and other Broadway saavy contributors. The DCA show originally featured Broadway stars including the amazing and beautiful songstress, Lea Salonga. And Aladdin offered a diverse cast, including ethnic diversity and mobile enabled diversity. How would you have a diverse Toy Story cast...make BoPeep a Black doll and have Slinky-dog sitting in a wheel chair? The Potato Heads and the green alien men do not qualify as being ethnic people. I did like Toy Story Musical's puppetry technology used to animate the characters' facial movements and expressions (ala Meet-in-Greet Talking Mickey and Disney Channel's Dumbo's Circus characters). But, other than the puppetry, Toy Story the Musical was not a good show to me and definitely was not a strong replacement for Aladdin, which is a far superior production.

I could easily imagine a Sid's Room sequence, for example.

It's always the same story (Snow White looking for her prince). The changes are usually topical, so they do add or remove little bits related to current events. Nevertheless, it's not so drastic that you would need to see the show more than once or twice in a lifetime.

Yupp i get your point. But changing up the entire show would cost who knows how much? With WOC, carsland and the other changes it may not be in the budget? Who knows maybe they are thinking we will change it when more $$ comes in.
