You write almost perfectly and your posts are somehow more painful to read than hers. Slam!

The best treatment of the mentally challenge and the disabled I've seen happens on the Howard Stern Show. Here the disabled and mentally challenged are welcomed to the show and treated like a regular cast member. They are goofed on and praised like a regular cast member.

On Stern's last day on terrestrial radio there was a public event in the streets hosted and organized by Yahoo. Yahoo's people were told to treat the "whack pack" (people like Gary the Retard) like VIPs, as if they were Brad Pitt or George Clooney.

It seems like a lot of these daytime talk shows have had on mentally challenged people and "weirdos" and exploited them for ratings. But on the Stern Show these people are family and treated just like everyone else. I think that's how "retards" want to be treated.

That's the philosophy I live by. You don't ignore the affliction. You don't talk down to someone with an affliction. You talk about it, even joke about it.

    What a re-tahd-ed conversation!

For the record, "mentally retarded" is the MEDICAL term for their condition. If someone is offended by this, then they might want to take an iq test themselves.

And remember, this is from the New York Post. A paper for entertainment purposes only.

I guess that is what I worry about. So how does Disney or Universal control underage drinking?

Back to the actual thread..I know for a fact they are very vigilant about the ID thing. I am 28 but most people think I look like a teenager. I get ID'd every single time I have ordered a drink. SOmetimes if there is a staff change in the middle of a meal, the new waiter will ask for my ID a second time.

we went to DL for our wedding aniversary in 2003. Sarah was 27 at the time, and was really flattered when they carded her both at the Golden Vine Winery and at the Napa Rose.

    Lol, I haven't been carded since I was 14, it's not fair.
