He goes out of his way to smooth ruffled feathers and make nice. Granted, he does not back down from what he views as legitimate criticism, but he doesn't only espouse the negative. He has been posting for a month now about his glee that he will be returning to WDW this month and how he can't wait. He has posted rave reviews of Tangled and has gone to see it again in 3D. He is personally friends with many folks who post here, and his jovial posts reflect his established rapport. So while he may be a card carrying D & G er, he is NOT a "negative person" and I think that is one of the most negative comments that has been made. Might want to check yourself before calling others out. Someone not agreeing with you isn't automatically negative.

I mean so it's only non boring to say negative things?<<< Sorry, KatieKate, but you are asking me to stop speaking my mind, and that's something I don't do. Personal complaint or not. I'm on this board to express opinions. That's what the boards are for. I can understand that its a little frustrating to read the same things over and over, but it's equally frustrating to hear about how great Disney is, which it is, but when at the same time, it's slipping in my view point. However, I really don't have an issue with people posting that. In fact, I rather enjoy reports of fun reports and good times had. And by no means is it boring to be positive. Or is it exciting to be negative. What's exciting is the difference and opinion and the debate, discourse, and discussion that follows. If everyone were positive, or negative, it would be a very boring place. Pleasant disagreement and discussion is best for a dynamic board, such as this. Now, to be frank, what isn't pleasant is your dismissive attitude to anyone who comes across as negative. People are going to disagree with you. It's not personal. Why be offended over something like this?

I won't go out of my way to talk about how bad the parks are, and I know WDW is years past its prime and doens't appear to be getting better any time soon. And that makes me angry. But I love WDW for what it is. Disneyland can't replace it. Tokyo Disneyland can't replace, nothing can replace it. We go to WDW every chance we get, and I love being there, I look forward to it like an excited fanboi, though I know full well how pitiful of a state the parks (and their management) are in (and I know full well with each passing year my dollar has less and less power.) So I don't know what to call myself. I quit Pixie Dusting cold turkey, but if Disney does something right, then I'll call them out on it, but that doens't happen too often anymore. I guess folks like me are black sheep...we're different (not Pixie Dusted), in the minority, but we're still dumb enough to keep going back to the same place like a sheep returns to its pasture.

Heck, most of us go back time and time again. Disney is still a great destination. It's just that for different reasons these days.

Same exact thing. Get excited, go back as much as I can and enjoy it, despite disappointment with whatever has lost quality this time. And totally get the "nothing can replace it." I went to DL this past fall wanting to be super pleased that not all things Disney are failing. Mind you, I grew up on both DL and WDW, so it wasn't new. But I just can't feel the same about DL. I enjoy it for sure. And some things I like better (Pirates, anyone?), but it is a totally different thing. It's an awesome theme park, but that's it. WDW is a whole fantasy world that I escape to. And TDO is screwing with my escapism! Grrr! So you are not alone. I personally just don't mind the Doom and Gloom moniker because it doesn't change who I am or how I feel regarding WDW. It's just slang to sum up a category-ish of people.
