I'm also a fan of the final scene in Monsters Inc., where Mike shows Sulley the door, and he gets to see Boo again. It has emotions and leaves it open for your imagination.

The witch's in Snow White, where all the animals are runing in the storm, also stands out in my mind as a great scene.

For just the beauty of the animation, I think I would go for April Shower from Bambi and Tocatta and Fuge in G Minor from Fantasia. They both do a great job of taking the music to higher levels.

I also nominate Basil in the toy shop, which I actually prefer to the Big Ben chase, Orville's take-off in The Rescuers, Tramp vs the rat.

Hmm, interesting...I read somewhere that he once said his favorite piece of animation was Cinderella running down the stairs in her new ball gown. The person who said so said they thought it was interesting that for Walt's favorite, he chose such a simple piece (I think it's in a book of mine, I'd have to look it up).

Great to see ya here again, Rhett!

Another one of my favorites is the sunrise over the savahana scene in Lion King as well as Mufasa and Simba talking out under the stars. Although that second one is more for the emotions than the actual animation...

Really I go nuts anytime they show a huge sweeping landscape shot. Like the view of the palace in Aladdin, some of the jungle view in Tarzan, the destroyed Chinese village in Mulan. I just can't get enough of those panaramic type shots.

    4) Mickey Mouse as the Sorcerer's Apprentice

    5) Hyacinth Hippo & Ben Ali Gator's Dance (from "Fantasia")

    6) The Roger Rabbit-Baby Herman "Somethin's Cooking" cartoon opening in "Who Framed Roger Rabbit"

    7) King Leonidas's soccer game in "Bedknobs and Broomsticks"

    8) Peter Pan and the Daring children flying to NeverLand

    9) "Be Our Guest" from "Beauty and the Beast"

    10) The build-up for The Wolf's first appearance from hearing the narrator saying "And there was also a...WOLF!" as The Wolf roars off-screen, seeing his huge pawprints in the snow, the big shadow lurking behind the trees and finally his camera-shaking growl as he thrust his head with his drooling toothy jaws wide-open while as he approach towards you, slowly filled up the screen with his glinting yellow-orange eyes...

I also like the singing and dancing scene in Snow White. I remember staring in disbelief when I paid attention to her hair bouncing around. I love the attention to detail and admire the time and effort it had to take. Details. Pixie dust. These are the things that have always set Disney apart.

I love that scene too. Seeing Sulley's face light up, then the screen simply fading to black with very little fanfare felt very odd to me the first time I saw it but it sure worked.

I guess I'm not alone with this one. It is strange since it's not really a scene, but seeing the main title at the end of The Lion King strikes such a chord with me.

Beauty and the Beast ballroom scene . . .with the long shot that spirals down from the roof towards the dancers.

Mulan -- the long shot as the Mongols come over the mountain in the thousands.

The climax scene in Atlantis when the guardians come to life as the statues rotate overhead.

And Disney is abandoning the creation of scenes like these for the likes of Chicken Little?

    - Kida stepping on water as the giant rock masks fall behind her.

    - The scene when Pocahontas "magically" learns english and the wide shot when they're standing under the tree and the vertigo of "the colours of the wind surrounds them". Aslo, their intial meeting adn what Glen did to Pocahontas' hair stunns me everytime.

    - Jane's baboon chase for her screems and the shot when her and Tarzan are about to get crushed by the falling log. Intense!

    - The Kronos scequence in The Incredibles when they go back and forth between Mr I discovering Syndrome's plan and Helen suspecting Bob of an affair. The music and editing on this is breathtaking.

    - The whole Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo

    Just to mention a fiew.
