I concur with the exception of the apathy, I had really hoped for more behind the scene’s from the Abrahamoff affair. I don’t really see it as scandal but how political things get done. No big surprise things died down on that one. It’s all fun and games partisan horseplay in here (LP) but the fact of the matter is that we are getting screwed. We have moved into the town bike era but I think we will look back on this era as the good old days when reality really set’s in.

<<An interesting observation. I wonder why you can't see the same thing with the current administration?>>

We have quite a difference in styles. The Bush administration style of running things is more like a corporation and when it’s said and done people feel they paid a lot for something they really didn’t want. With the current administration disappointment in the goods sold, we got it home and it wasn’t what we thought. I think most thinking (and us cynics) people are predisposed to thinking they are going to get screwed from a cold impersonal corporation. Where as Mr. Clinton’s style was more entertaining like a show or movie, scripted and controlled. Believe it or not women in his age group found him sexy and Mrs. Clinton wasn’t really a factor in the whole big lug fantasy. Although I think his fantasy legacy evaporated for the way he handled the tryst with Monica. So we had a likeable and human lead character and if things didn’t work out at the end of the day oh well we tried and yes we may have paid a lot for something but at least it made us feel good.

You think we're getting screwed, yet that's not a scandal to you, that's just "how things are done?" Now that's cynical.

Most people aren't quite so cynical, which is why I don't think the Abramoff scandal is anywhere near done.

What the "town bike era" is I have no idea.

If you only knew the half of it!

One can only hope but anytime you have high level scandal i.e. oil for food or today’s revelation

Abramoff etc this stuff for the most part just fades away.

It pertains to my feelings about the political parties that govern the country and me everyone’s getting a free ride!

Oh yeah, I've heard of that too.

Go try it in Brooklyn, though. :)
