Well, I e-mailed our only mutual friend and said "What gives?" "Who is this chick?" Is it safe to become a friend and is she reliable. My mutual friend said she went to school with us and was now a school trustee in her city (hence, she was reputable).

SO, for the first time, I became a friend with a relatively total stranger. I figured, hey, you can't have too many friends. When we became friends, I had access to her friend's photo albums.

So I was surfing her site and found a photo album for a Pastor's ordination. I perused the photo's and recognized a couple names from my home church in Vancouver. Then, I realized I recognized an old friend, a minister in whose Lutheran church I used to play organ. I was very happy to see him looking so good (he's retired now).

THEN, much to my surprise, I saw a picture of her husband and her together, and though, I KNOW that guy although he had aged quite a bit. I e-mailed her and sure enough, it was a fellow I use to be in a marching band with (for the BC Lions football team).

All this from a lady I didn't and still don't recall from high school. BTW, I notice she's made a dozen friends since befriending me so she's really not into being a friend with me. Maybe she wants friends for political purposes?

I suspect that I'm probably one of those "mystery people" for a lot of LP'ers due to the mutual friends I share with a number of my FB friends...

My own "after so long" FB story is that I found my teenage best friend and we will be meeting up later this weekend. I have not seen her in something like 15 years. Initially, I was nervous, but when we finally spoke on the phone, it felt so easy and comfortable.

I feel a little bit like a celebrity! Never had this situation before. Kind of like a "blind date." I wonder if she sent me the invite by accident?

I don't drive distances and she is too fary away for me to drive to.
