Before bush, the heaviest drinking city would have been lamont, illinois. In the winter all you can do their is drink, or have sex, and the cold kills the sex a lot. Two blocks to the city, and 80 bars, that was in the eighties during the senile, hateful reagan years. Of course thanks to the known traitor, george bush... If they wait, maybe the propagandists lie will be true. Maybe they should wait a few more months to say that alcoholism, and the suicide rate has gone down. In a few more months, that may become the truth, thanks to these drunken criminals. It will be true since more of the drunks are committing suicide now, possibly alcoholism, and the suicide rate will go down. NAAAAH, having a weak, suicidal traitor, like george bush, organizes and breeds a weak, suicidal nation of traitors. Take care and have fun. Use your imaginations, and dare to explore the bottom of your toilet bowls, as you empty the contents of your stomachs.

A huge percentage said "beer." (Actual answer: milk). It looks like from the methodology that they didn't really look at how MUCH people drank, just the percentage of people who drink at all. That could explain the relative absence of southern cities; from my experience, the south has both people who drink a LOT, and a certain percentage who don't drink at all.
