I want to like Stefano, but for me he just rings false - he's faking it with razzle-dazzle instead of something more genuine. I'll be happy if he makes it through, but he didn't cut the mustard with me tonight. At least not as well as these five others did.

I'm also not as bowled over by Jacob as everybody else seems to be. He misses a lot of notes, gets a little crazy and show-offy with the riffs, and always looks like he's about to burst into tears. I'm also not sure how much support an apparently effeminate black man is going to get from america's black community. We'll see, but I'm not holding my breath on this one.

Kinda similar feelings about Casey - he's always "fun" but in a singing competition there are people with powerful voices that he's up against. Style points alone aren't enough to carry the day.

I don't expect to be as opinionated about the girls tomorrow. With the exception of Thia Magia, they all run together with me. I don't have the same sense of familiarity or connection with the women singers yet.

    1. Tatynisa: I still stand by my wonderment; how the heck did she make it?

    2. Naima: I can't help it I love her and want her to well so badly. She is unique and has the chops, I'm just not sure if I liked it a lot.

    3. Kendra: Eh. I didn't hear what everyone else did I guess.

    4. Rachel: HORRIBLE!

    5. Karen: Robotic. Beauty pageant is what came to mind. For all the motioning, I felt nothing. I must be cranky.

    6. Lauren: I missed her performance. Mama said good.

    7. Ashthon: Total package. Didn't super duper wow me though.

    8. Julie: Awful.

    9. Haley: Disaster. Uncomfortable to watch. Whew.

    10. Thia: Beautiful voice.

    11. Lauren: Solid performance.

    12. Pia: Knocked it out of the park!

Top 4: Pia & Thia (LOL) & both Laurens
    Gone: Rachel

If I could have six and/or seven, I'd pick Thia and Lauren 2. Thia disappointed tonight - she's a favorite for me but she played it slow and still and slightly dark. Lauren 2 seemed like a breath of country air in comparison.

The first singer, Ta-ta, was a bad choice to start the night off. We'll probably never see her again after Thursday night.

The other time-waster for me was Julie. I didn't think she should have been put through last week - now she's just getting on my last nerve. Heave-ho.

The others weren't bad but weren't really good either - also rans. I come out of tonight with more interest in Lauren 1 and Pia.

And can we finally call a moratorium on showing videos of these girls scrubbing toilets? We get it already.

    Lauren
    Lauren
    Pia
    Thia
    Naima

It'll be interesting to me to see who the top 10 end up being and who gets put through from the rest to round out the top 12. Oh, and I'm REALLY hoping that Julie is gone. I just don't like her as a person.

Oh, and regarding Scottie - I'll be a-ok with him in the top 12 but I agree with Lisa - he could have a career right now. I also think Lauren Alaina could. Those two kiddos are AMAZING performers. Oh, and Thia Magia (what a fun dang name!), too.

And I love, love, LOVE Paul. I totally dig his style. I'd be willing to have his love child if it could sing like him even though I don't find him attractive! lol

Oh, and my $.02 on Jacob - he is a WONDERFUL singer, but I just don't think he's AI material.

If memory serves, only the top nine go on the summer tour. This provides an added lustre for the contestants who get that far. Which means that we've still got several more weeks of eliminations before we determine who's on the tour.

AND - the tour is dropping in attendance. Unlike other bands on tour, AI can't very well cancel or drop cities - they have to press on. This past summer they were selling floor tickets to the bay area show for $13 bucks.

Also, I can pretty much guarantee that if Paul, Casey, and Lauren A. make the top however-many-go-on-tour, I'll go ahead and get a ticket if they come to Austin, Houston, or San Antonio. I'm digging a LOT of the folks this year!

I think the contestant who has the girl with health problems didn't make it.

My four favorites (2 per gender) have all made it. I soooooo hope Paul goes on to be in the top 2 with Lauren Alaina since, right now, they're my favorites.

Honestly, though, I think this year it'll go to either Lauren or Casey based on what we've seen so far.

He's old school jazz, blues with a bit of rock/folk to him, so talented. And I guess the teen Latina girl in me finds Stefano sweet, with a lovely voice and easy on the eyes. Lauren is easily going to be a crowd favorite with her energy and great pipes.

I'm not as jazzed on Thia and Pia but they both have awesome voices.

With Jordan, and Clint -- it seems like their fate was sealed when they kicked out that chubby kid from their respective groups during Hollywood group week.

I'm sure they never imagined that America would be deciding their fate based on their behavior.

That is, Scotty seems like he's a very nice young man, whereas the other two most definitely did NOT.

Heck, I'm just thrilled that none of the ones I dubbed the evil three even got the change to sing for their lives. YAY JUDGES! Smack them down! hehe

I was also really touched when Niama made it through. She has such a big voice! I don't think she'll be cleaning toilets after this.
