Originally Posted By Dabob2 I like that idea too, but it means the band would have to have up to 12 other songs rehearsed and ready to go any given week. Actually, for the semi-final weeks, up to 24. And for these semi-final shows, the only theme is "Billboard charts," which essentially means "any song that was ever popular." If they've got an exit song that they thinks showcases them so well, why not just use it as their competition song at this point? Once they get to the finals and have theme weeks, it does seem like somebody who's not really into country, say, but still has to do a country song might want to have a different exit song, but it does require more work for the band, as you never know who's going out any given week. As for last night, I was unsurprised by everyone but Michelle also. I thought she'd stick around a lot longer than Didi, say.

When she got the boot, it wasn't until she started to sing her exit song that I thought, "oh yeah, that one."

I liked Todrick when he had the growl going but the rest sounded off key and flat to me, yet the judges loved it. Of the girls I liked Crystal and Dede. There is a lilt in Dede's voice that I like. The guys.......hmmmmm......well I couldn't get that darn song from Shrek out of my head last night (love the song by the way) so I guess I liked the guy who sang it and of course Casey, although I do agree that the song was safe for him but who cares?

I guess we are not the audience AI is aiming for, LOL!
