I think that was just mean. Mike is just so meh for me. He can sing, but I just find him boring. Did anyone else catch Ryan's little dig at Dunkleman? I thought that was totally rude saying something like he was going to be hosting I think the Idol gives back and then saying just kidding, so and so is really hosting it. I thought that was so uncalled for. Maybe there is something further going on than I know about. I just remember Dunkleman hosting AI the first year with Ryan and then after that first year Dunkleman being dropped. If you got the job over someone else, isn't it in poor taste to rub it in their face years later?

I was shocked to read in that article that Dunkleman was the one who left the show. I thought AI decided they only needed one host. How strange that after 8 years, Ryan brings that up. I thought maybe there was some sort of recent fued between the two that I didn't know anything about like Dunkleman writing a tell all book saying Ryan got him booted from show, but apparently not.

I hope either Tim or Aaron goes home tonight (if indeed they boot anyone - in past years, they've sent NO ONE home on "Idol Gives Back" night, so we'll see what they do tonight). Neither were terrible, but it's past time. Both Mike and Casey, though very talented, are in danger of seeming like one-trick ponies if they're not careful. They've both had performances where they transcended that ("Jealous Guy" for instance) but they slip back into their comfort zones a little too easily and just give us "good, not great" a little too much. I didn't think Lee was quite as good as the judges did - The Boxer is a strange choice of a song to squash down to 90 seconds, or whatever they gave them last night - but he's getting better and taking chances and is probably my second favorite now. But oh my - wasn't Crystal something last night? Wow. As the judges pointed out, she was the only one who actually was inspiring. And that's because she makes the audience FEEL something. The moment at the end where she broke down was just the icing on the cake - a big plus for her because it was so obviously genuine, and the only knock I've seen on her has been that she seems "unemotional" to some (I've never thought so). But well before that moment she was blowing the rest of the field away.

But...it's certainly possible people will get lazy and not vote for her, figuring she'll be set with a recording career regardless of the outcome. IMO if she doesn't win, it's going to be either Lee or Casey taking the crown.

Time for Tim to go, we all knew that so now I guess they'll go in this order, Aaron, Mike, Casey, Lee with Crystal winning. Not much of a stretch there It could be better for Crystal if she doesn't win. I'm sure there are agents/labels that are waiting in the wings with pen in hand. Lee may do better as an Idol.
