For anyone who didn't watch and hasn't googled Aaron and Mike were the bottom 2, with Aaron leaving.

We watched Tues. and Wed. back to back and I was kind of tired. I found that all the contestants sounded better with my eyes closed. I'm serious. Aaron singing Sinatra was MUCH better without the visual of a kid trying to be cool as was Crystal when not seeing her Barbie dress.

Casey seems like he'd rather not win. I wonder if he's been approached with another contract?

Harry Connick Jr. was great. I don't always like his singing but I've seen him on talk shows and he's very personable and obviously knows many aspects of the music/entertainment world.

All right, Labuda - I'm too dang lazy to look for it if you posted it before... how WOULD you like the final four to play out?

If Lee wins I'd be sort of like "well, okay. I do like him." Kind of like I was with Kris last year.

But I think Crystal (like Adam last year) is the standout, once-in-a-season talent who really OUGHT to win. And what's nice is that she is that in a whole different way than Adam was.

Harry Connick Jr was a excellent mentor and way cool that he actually took part in the show.

I think the judges are a complete joke and ruining the show.

I felt kinds weird about the Sinatra sisters being there. Not sure why. The handkerchief thing was really sweet but could have been done offstage.

I read that Tuesday night's show was the lowest rated since season 1.
Either people are tired of the format, don't like this year's performers, don't like Ellen, are tired of Simon's condescension, or miss good 'ol Paula...or all of the above. I'm not sure how many, if any, seasons are left in this once "cash cow" of a show.

And I thought Ellen was uncharacteristically substantive tonight when she said to Mike, "Well, how can you sound bad with a choir behind you?"

So, for me, dog, "yes" for the judges. Not so much for the celebrity mentor. I wasn't down with that whole look-me-in-the-eyes-and-win-a-t-shirt thang.

Crystal had by far the best solo performance, and as I predicted, the judges gave her a more fair assessment this week after a couple of weeks of damning with faint praise. She actually did turn "I'm All Right" into a better song.

Of course, they had little choice but to criticize the guys, as all of their solo turns were lackluster. "Mrs. Robinson" was a particularly curious choice. Great song, but mostly because of the lyric; it's not a song that showcases a vocalist.

Both the duets were excellent, though.

Tough call on who goes home. I'm going to guess Mike; Lee has a lot of mojo from the last couple of weeks, and Casey looked a little better than Mike on the duet due to some nice guitar work. Casey wouldn't shock me, though.

Since I did not vote, it will probably be one of them that goes.

Anyone could go home tonight just depends on how many fans bothered to vote. I know I didn't >8o[

The show did nothing for me last night, I thought it was all pretty lackluster. Crystal being the stand out but even the duets were just ok for me.

Anyhow, watching tonight's episode, and the first real stand-out performance for me is the song that Ellen chose for Crystal to sing. She just knocked it out of the park - not just a home run, but a GRAND SLAM!
