    But I was also amazed at the decision between the final two. Particularly since Simon had remarked how good the first girl was in her clip (something like "the best we've seen today"), while I don't think Antonella will ever generate that kind of comment.

    Well, it isn't just a singing competition, it's about looks and X-factor too... and they are casting for a show, just as they cast for a reality show like Survivor. Some very good singers just won't make it; there is no logic to it.

    I think the guys are much stronger than the girls this year. My three favorites for the guys: Chris Sligh, Brandon Rogers and Paul Kim

    For the girls I like Melinda Doolittle the best.

It was a bit unruly (Paula didn't show up until the end) and Leno, great stand-up that he is, never seems to have control over his guests.
