04 - Bucky - good job, his identical twin brother is WAY better looking, though - funny, eh?

    05 - Will - pretty ok - he'll last another week, I think

    06 - Taylor - WOW - loved it!

    07 - Elliot - kinda weak

08 - Ace - wow, he wore the beanie that touched that evil person's head last week - that doeesn't bode well.... my GOD, that was bad. Didn't enjoy it at ALL.

If it doesn't come down to those two at the end of the competition, I'll be very shocked.

And I'm also wondering if simon showed up for these shows with a list already in place of who he wants to be in the final twelve. It doesn't matter how good they performed, he was going to tell them to 'pack their bags' because HE doesn't want them on the tour.

Wanted to see taylor sing! I am glad you all thin he did good though. as i am sure he will be sticking round!

It used to be where they werent allowed to go on that show if they have released previous records, have been signed with someone else, etc. Is American Idol being more forgiving with thee things (as well as age)?

Chris - I think he did a great job, maybe not as great as last week, but he's still a favorite of mine!

Bucky - I think Bucky did pretty well. Country is not my thing though, but not bad.

    Will - So boring.

Taylor - WOW, he is just great!

Elliot - Seemed a little out of it last night. He has a great voice and I still think he did very well, but not his best.

Ace - I think he was very brave to do that song. I think he actually did a pretty good job of it.

I think Will is gone for sure, and probably Kevin as well.

Labuda, I totally agree regarding Bucky's twin, LOL!

Taylor sings great, but I totally agreed with Simon's that would have to be radio, no music video. I watch Taylor with kind of a confused fascination, LOL

Chris - didn't particularly care for his song choice, but I'd love to see him win.

Oh, well. I guess that's why Baskin Robbins makes 31 flavors! ; )

Taylor's been through the Joe Cocker Dance Academy, no question!

02 Chris: Rather mopey sounding, but the song did build, at least.

03 Kevin: Awwwwwww. It was a good vocal performance, but I think his extreme youth has caught up with him. There's a great raw talent there, but I don't think he's ready.

04 Bucky: Very good country performance. I disagree completely with Simon-- this was not what you find in any bar. It's probably best that Bucky kept the existence of Rocky under wraps, after all the "twins drama" this year.

05 Will: A cute pop version of this song-- just right for him. I feel pretty sure that Will will be the last little boy standing.

06 Taylor: The singing loon was great, again.

07 Elliot: I found his performance very underwhelming. It was a so so performance of a so so song.

08 Ace: Just a dud tonight. Very creepy, almost, hearing the falsetto that killed Sway's chances. (And I believe the cap was new. I feel pretty sure that Brenna has the other cap, and will be offering it on eBay very soon.)

I do believe we will be saying farewell to Kevin, followed by Chris (or maybe Bucky or Ace).

Chris-always good, I liked him better last week but still a winner

Bucky-really good, Bucky and Rocky is just too funny, DH thinks Bucky's full name is Bullwinkle and is insisting on calling him that from now on :)

    Will-gone

    Taylor-gret voice, can't watch him

Elliott-good but liked him better last week

Ace-I didn't remember the song either, liked his performance but the length of the falseto (sp) took me by surprise and I couldn't tell whether it was good or bad

My guess is that Will and Kevin will go

Taylor - well, we all knew a Michael McDonald song was coming and he nailed it. I don't care about vidoes and such. It's not what American Idol wants but I believe Taylor is a through back - you know an unmanufactured musician. Wow! With some talent. He might not be Idol's normal material but he's going to be cutting albums when this is all done and have a fan base. Good for him.

Elliot - he's still awesome, just wasn't a good song to pick and he seemed a bit lackluster. I agree with Simon's comments.

Ace - the song got away from him part way, but I liked it. He was pretty gutsy for singing that one. MJ isn't the most popular artist right now and that song isn't that well known. Ace is playing to the camera but I think he's pretty darn talented. He needs to step it up a bit. He's not my favorite but he'd make a great American Idol. I want to hear him do some Marvin Gaye, Jason Timberlake, Maxwell, Donny Hathaway sort of stuff.

Kevin - Very good voice. Sort of a Gilbert O'Sullivan type. But man, he's got a look for radio.

Chris - I think he's talented, but his performance tonight was boring. He needs to step it up a bit.

Bucky - Good job, but forgettable.

Will - He's like a poorman's Donny Osmond. Nice enough voice, but nothing special -- no 'umph!'

Taylor - This guy is special -- great voice, interesting to watch. Like Joe Cocker meets Michael McDonald.

Elliot - He's normally really good. I agreed with Simon -- performance seemed a bit perfunctory.

Ace - He's this season's Marcellus. Can't take it. The song 'Butterflies in my stomach for you' -- too squishy. The falsetto didn't do it for me.

To me -- Will should go, and I would have Gedeon go too.

It's just gimmicky showing off. For me, who wants to listen to it?

    But as you say, 2-eechusown

Are you familiar with the song 'Butterflies' Jim? I think if you'd heard it before, you might have liked it better -- maybe? IMHO, what he did fit that song. I didn't get that Mariah Carey feel (where she elongates a simple word like "and" into a 30 second vocal exercise only dogs can hear) from his singing.

Was it showing off? Sure. Was he working the camera? Sure. But that's what they're supposed to do -- not play it totally safe.

Most of the music I listen to is soul and R&B and jazz, and to me, I could imagine his version of that song fitting into my station's playlist.

Maybe it boils down to this, Kar2oonMan. It's tough for any male singer to sing about having 'butterflies inside' -- it's just sort of a queegy song, that I don't care for.

    :)
