I know it will take some people awhile to truly recognize a genius at work. Many great artists, sadly, aren't fully appreciated by their contemporaries.

I say with confidence that one day in the future, some young actor will win an Oscar for a performance involving the putting on and taking off of sunglasses, all while pausing dramatically.... mid-sentence.... and that young actor will be asked how they prepared for the role of a lifetime.

"Watching Caruso, man," they'll say as the put on their shades. "Just by watching.... Caruso."

I find I really enjoy watching him now.

Peter Billingsly, I haven't seen much of him lately but how can anyone forget Ralphie? I even went out and bought the Daisy special edition Red Ryder BB gun after watchin the movie. (still have it too)

I have a hard time choosing a #1. I've alway thought Sidney Poitier has the strongest presence on any actor I've ever seen and Shirley Temple was an absolute genius in her day. Nope, can't do it, there's just too many good ones and there's the apples and oranges issues like drama versus comedy. I think I'll cast my vote for the genie in the Aladdin Show.

Oooops! My bad. Ok then, I would have to say... it would be Helena Bonham Carter. I would have chosen Helen Mirren, but I will never forgive her for appearing in "Caligula".

Granted, she has been in some crappy Hollywood movies lately (Planet of the Apes? puhleeze!)
But her previous work in the UK, in such great movies like "Room with a View" is what made me like her a lot.
