I think most folks here are smart enough to read between lines. It is nice to hear from you ChiMike ... I suppose if more folks like yourself were around it might give me a reason to post more regularly. But honestly I just don't see many threads I feel like adding my two cents worth (and I've had a lot of time off this week to read). And going back and forth with folks blinded by pixie dust doesn't get me all hot and tingling like it once did. What can I say? Must be age. How many times can you rip MK management for allowing the park to get stale and rot away? How many times can you rip TDO for the DDP, which is destroying resort dining? How many times can you say that despite the above that you still love visiting and eagerly await your next trip, so you can just get out and walk the lush pathways of DAK or go around the world in a day at Epcot? And as for what used to go on between two princes ... well ... frankly I'm just surprised none of it has ever wound up on X-Tube ;-) Spirit out.

I did just buy my R.E.M. tickts for Jones Beach today I also know (like InSpector 57) that TDLFAN is "busy" and the last thing on his mind is this thread. So - as far as Donna goes .... *SQUEAL*

I do dislike all bad things about Disney, while liking all the good things about Disney. Seems like common sense ...

I go there to have a good time.. and when somebody asks a question about their upcoming trip I dont bash them or Disney World and tell them to go to TDL I've been on this board long enough to have read TDLFANS uncalled for remarks to nice people that just wanted some honest help... Obviously your blinded by your personal relatioinship to TDLFAN.. by the way I thought you left the board... end of this conversation with you.. go look for garbage will you..

Most people don't .. just a handful of you on here... that's your opinion, write a letter to Iger.. I go to Disney World evey other week and do not find enough of a problem there as you do to ruin my magic.. my last comment to you also.. have a disney day...

I may return one day, if my kids ask, but instead I will concentrate on DL and DLP. And Spirit was rarely rude to any individual (TdLFAN could be dependent on mood, though in real life he is a total delight). I can sa your responses on here appear rude, and far more abrassive than the posters this thread relates to. And unlike you, rather than make too harsh a critical judgement, I am willing to give you a chance. Why don't you try to do likewise, you might get a taste of your own medicine and enjoy this board more. I don't go to a disney resort with a cynical eye, but I will call them out f they are in contravention of the ethos of Disney. Same with posters, I don't go looking to be cynical about our members of this community, but I will call somewhat out for being rude IMHO. And pixiedust1, from my assessment of you telling people yo are done with them after a few posts does appear rude to me.

That said, you have to understand the most of the criticism comes from a long standing love of Disney parks, and a disappointment that things are no longer like they should be. I can enjoy the criticism, participate in the discussions, and still have a blast on my park vacations, as I'm having right now in WDW. BTW, the weather totally sucks here, but I'm doing my best not to let it bother me. There's still fun to be had out there!

I think that is kind of a dishonest thing to allude to. >>Most people don't .. just a handful of you on here...<< There is a large difference in trashing everything - and pointing out what should be improved (or rethought) to make the place better both for the guests' and for the company in the long run. At the end of the day it is simply someone's opinion. For the life of me, I do not understand why some peoples' opinions are 'acceptable' and others not. Maybe that is why the boards have been so dead. When opinions/people are put into opposing boxes, people stop feeling like individuals.

After that, I acted like I was on vacation - weird! lol Anyhow, bummed that I didn't get to see TDLFAN or Spirit on this trip, but I did get to hang out with -em and chrisrails, so that was cool. Anyhow, as if it needs to be said again - spirit and TDLFAN are both very big fans of Disney and only want the company to maintain the level of excellence they did in the past. For those ignorant folks who don't know or remember the way things were 20 years ago... congrats! You're part of the dumbing down of Disney, and those of us who DO remember the old days just adore when you trash us for expecting more and not taking part in the Walmarting of Disney.

The internet has really amplified the problems facing companies nowadays. Before if you had a negative experience with a company you complained to your friends or family and maybe wrote a letter to the local paper. Now, you post it on your blog, you shout it out on the message boards, and let the world know. It's a whole new ball game as far as businesses are concerned. I am willing to bet if we had the internet in the 60's and Walt Disney had announced plans for building POTC, people online would have blasted him saying "Who wants to sit in a boat for 15 minutes looking at robot pirates" Now every decision a company makes is scrutinized within minutes of the announcement...
Originally Posted By Sport Goofy << I am willing to bet if we had the internet in the 60's and Walt Disney had announced plans for building POTC >> Well, we did have TV then and Walt Disney went to great lengths to tell the public what he was doing with POTC there. Not a very good example, I don't think. I do think that there are people prone to complain more loudly and obnoxiously than others. In social situations that aren't anonymouns, those folks are usually kept in check by the fact that this sort of behavior just isn't all that flattering. However, in the world of the anonymous internet, the social norms of the world fall apart and people who would otherwise be labeled obnoxious run amuck.
