He is also used for demonstration purposes but nothing else. He just isn't designed for the rigors of theme park life. Muppet Mobile Lab is a better vehicle for that technology and another step on. However there are still the same concerns about whether the device can truly stand up to a 12 hour operating day. The answer is still a firm no. The LCP AAs continue to evolve and I'm sure WDI R&D will eventually crack that nut. <<Is this little character so expensive they couldnt have sprung for another one to test at a French restaurant at WDW?>> Again it is trying to see how the parks can use the LCP toys inside the park without them being tied to a show building. This is just another way to infuse the characters into the park that adds meaning to a guest's day. It also demonstrates that you can play with the scale - a full-size walk around Remy is wrong IMHO. Remy is the proverbial little guy and needs to stay that way.

I know my kids would love this as it is an interaction targeted as 1 to 2 individuals at a time and would make them feel special. I know it is tiring for the cm characters, but the most memorable ones are the ones who play with the kids in a way that is specific to that child. King Louie, Smee, Meeko, and The Queen Of Hearts have done this with my kids and each year they seek them out hoping for another turn. These are special moments and attractions in themselves.

It just seems like such a waste not to have them in the parks. Even if it has to be on a limited bases. I know the folks that work at Disney are not dummies. Remy is only going to work in a restaruant enviroment unless you build an attraction around him. I agree with you about what size Remy should be. What they are doing at Chefs de France is perfect.

It would be fantastic to ride Test Track with Gonzo, but how on earth do you do that safely without causing bottlenecks of people trying to see what's going on and damage to the characters? The Muppets are perfect for this as they lend themselves to this kind of technology. Lee, will MML ever make it to WDSP? I'd be there in a heartbeat!!!

I wasn't aware that a second Remy existed - although I guess that is like saying there are two Mickeys.

Anything within that remit is fair game including your suggestion, ukfan. It is about "pixie-dusting" families' experiences with personal interactions with LCP's products. The folks behind the program have managed to crack the CGI interactive show nut successfully (Turtle Talk with Crush and Stitch Encounter) but are still finding their way with the free-roaming AAs. Time will tell if they can find a way to get those characters working properly inside the parks. I don't believe there is any plan to bring Muppet Mobile Lab to Paris at present (the Muppets just aren't popular enough in Europe with the UK as the sole exception) although I'm sure it is being considered.
