I hope they just cancel whatever the project was altogether, just to spite some geek internet poster. Now THAT'D make for some interesting reading. :p

Remember when people used to find out about new rides WHEN THEY GOT THERE?

Yes, that's how overinflated these people's egos are.

It's just annoying, that's all. He can't be wrong, Disney had to change their plans to spite him.

So I get sick of this sort of thing, because it really is very stupid.

On the other hand, I can see that people within disney could be peevish about al stealing their thunder - this is going to be one of the most significant announcements in DLRs recent history.

    Say - I like that!

    Seriously, Gadzuux...

    Disney geek.

    internet.

    NOBODY CARES.

Lest of all a big corporation preparing some sort of amusement park expansion announcement to the REAL WORLD (all of whom (yup, all 5 billion) haven't heard word one about whatever this is, and will probably reply with a yawn and a byline anyway).

Reality check, people. This is just getting silly.

    It's a gigantic corporation, dude.

Roy Disney didn't bug them, why should this net geek nobody's heard of.

This is absolutely reminding me of when Jim Cramer went on a rant about the fed recently. Then, when the fed cut rates, CNBC starts running commercials about "When Jim Cramer speaks, the Fed listens".

    Yeah, right.

    Really, it's very silly.

He simply got something wrong, and instaed of saying "Got something wrong," people crawl out of the woodwork to say that a multi national mega corp changed their plans over something because this one guy said there was going to be a press conference.

    Right.

It's not impossible, but if Disney did operate that way, that'd be the most pathetic thing I've ever heard them do.

Seriously, I think sometimes people get downright delusional about their place on the planet thanks to this internet "mini-world".

This excuse making is flat out crazy. It's always engineered to make it look like he's never wrong, and things are phrased that anyone who questions what he says is to be marginalized, like what has been tried to do to me in this thread. It doesn't work, and it is not going to stop me from saying what I think.

As you may know from my WE posts, irrational posts and people who just can't connect the dots really just tick me off. I expect people to be able to think critically (lord knows why) and when they don't, I get annoyed.

The whole premise of this thread was "Hey, they're going to make an announcement." My response was, well this is no surprise. So, now there is no announcement, and as far as I know, no invites have gone out to any press members regarding an announcement which would come a few days before an event.

So nothing. So what. If it does happen, who wouldn't think there was an announcement. And if it doesn't, hey Al was right yet again they just changed their plans.

I've heard that excuse so many times, it's pointless. The truth is I know people who have sent in false information, got it printed, and when what was supposed to happen did not happen, it was due to "budget cuts."

People need to start thinking for themselves. Just for once.

If his leaking word about an imminent announcement is enough to make Disney postpone that announcement, then Disney's problems go deeper than DCA. Heck, Lutz didn't even spill the beans on what is going to be announced, just that an announcement was pending. Everything that Lutz has been predicting over the last year has been nothing more than speculation. Only Disney can issue the official word, and only Disney can do it better than anyone else, because they will have models, artwork, press kits, etc. Not to mention the official decision on what exactly they plan to do.

Lutz doesn't have any of that. Neither Marcie nor Jim Hill have any of that. Only Disney.

If the folks at Disney are so mad about Lutz' "breaking news" flash that they are going to actually postpone a press event because of it, then that is beyond ludicrous.

In the world of Disneyland, Lutz is a fact of life. He isn't going away. Disney doesn't have to embrace him, but they really need to learn how to deal with it. If the powers that be there in Burbank and Glendale postpone this announcement that we have all essentially been waiting since 2001 to hear - simply because of Al Lutz - then I for one will be supremely ticked off on multiple fronts.

You not only have said this sort of thing repeatedly, but you KEEP doing it again and again.

It's staggering how bizarrely deep your grudge goes here. It's blinding you to how embarrassing you're coming off.
