Well, except maybe in the case of Ted Haggard, where there was a whole 'nother level of hypocracy goin' on. I absolutely don't care that BC got BJ in the White House. But I'm furious that he cost us so much money by (a) getting caught and (b) denying it. It's looking as though Wiener similarly lied about it when he thought he could pull it off. But now that his hired media-machine is advising him that there is actual evidence and that he needs to to cop the "I'm so sorry" stance, he's doing that. That is not the kind of integrity I want in my public officials.

Originally Posted By SingleParkPassholder "That is not the kind of integrity I want in my public officials." Exactly. I realize it's an uphill battle, but for me, the line has to be drawn somewhere. Once Clinton started lying, doing so gave the GOP the opening they wanted. He brought on the impeachment all by himself. After that, why anyone, much less a Congressman, would think they could lie their way out of something like this is insanity. It's not just poor judgment, it's judgment devoid of logic and reason. At least do the right thing and resign.

Probably involving a special election and all. So since he didn't break any laws I think he should stay. Strip him of any power for the remainder of his term and then he should quietly move into the private sector.

He got caught, and he's not the first or the last one. These types of scandals will never be finished as long as there is imagination in the world.

But it is always out there and can be used against you if the person you sent it to sends it to someone else or decides to make what you tweeted public. Once it is out there, you have no control over where it eventually goes.

Not just little white lies but an entire extensive media campaign that went on for almost a week and blanketed the cable nets - all of it a campaign to dodge and weave, deceive and - lie. That can't be easily shrugged off and waved away. And it didn't have to happen. If it were just the tweeted pics he probably could have survived. For me, in order to have a sex scandal, actual sex needs to occur - skin, organs, penetration - we all know what sex is - and isn't. And this isn't it.
