As a guy who has battled weight for years, I understand what you're going through and recognize the benefits of weight loss, and blood pressure and cholesterol reduction. Welcome to the 40s! The initial excitement and newness of the program is just that -- new and exciting. And battling the boredom factor is just another hurdle that will then lead you to where you need to be. I like your bit of skepticsm. In my opinion, it's a good thing. I get scared when people get super-duper hyped up about weight loss, or an exercise program, or quitting smoking or whatever. It's almost impossible to maintain that level of excitement. A healthy bit of skeptical keeps you honest, if you know what I mean. To me, the key to these programs [Weight Watchers, Jenny Craig et al] is to use them as a kick start -- so that you can learn how to eat better, how to exercise more and fold that into your lifestyle. Years ago, my ex-wife wanted to do Jenny Craig and so I ended up doing it with her [because I'm a supportive and wonderful guy]. I didn't like having to buy portions of frozen pre-fab food, and measuring stuff, or making a diary. But Jenny Craig was attempting to teach their participants how to eat better, get more exercise and embark on a new healthy lifestyle. Of course, as soon as my ex was satisfied with losing 20 pounds in a month, she was back eating like she was before. [Note that I said ex] In my mind, K2M, you won't need the program -- you'll have learned how to eat, exercise and keep an eye on your overall health. And that's a good thing. Keep up the good work! [The preceeding announcement is from Jim in Pasadena, CA -- Mr. pick-me-up! ]

Grilled Citrus Chicken Salad 5pts. Baja Checken Rollup 10 pts. Mesquite Chicken Salad 4 pts. Sizzling Chicken Skillet 7 pts. Grilled Tilapia With Mango Salsa 7 pts. Teriyaki Shrimp Skewers 5 pts. Berry Lemon Cheesecake 5 pts. Chocolate Raspberry Layer Cake 4 pts. This sounds good to me! I will be visiting our local Applebees soon after this starts. I'll post my thoughts. Lilli

What I've learned so far is that staying aware of what I'm eating thrughout the day really makes a big difference. Learning the various point value of different foods is an easy way to keep track in your head throughout the day. Although yesterday, i did go ahead and try a Tommy's burger at CityWalk. I'd never had one before, and this was the first burger I'd had since April. It was okay, just not that big of a deal. Nice thing about the points system is that I kept track of what I had eaten all day to make sure I had enough room left to have the burger. I wish I'd gone to Rubio's instead.

That's why you have Flex points, silly! And get the Baked Tostitos instead of your usual chips - they'e not bad at all, and that way you can have a LOT more chips and salsa than you would if you ate normal Tostitos or whatever.

One of my favorite treats was the Skinny Cow ice cream sandwhiches (2 pts), a nice treat on a warm day. Congrats on the weight loss!
