Hey, 2oony, you did not gain this week! That's great! Remember, this is a lifestyle change and, like Jim said, not like alcohol or quitting cigs. We have to eat!

I think I will be maintaining this week as well, but I am SO happy with that! Total loss so far: 24 pounds. I'm hoping that by my Saturday weigh in I'll be down a pound, but if not, that's OK, too!

BTW, anyone try the new meals at Applebee's yet? I haven't been able to go.

I got a little keychain charm, and a 50 pound loss magnet.

And Lillibelle, I did step away from the cheesecake. (For now.) :)

    Again, great job!

(I maintained this week and that's fine 'cause it's not a gain!)

This is my second time with WW- the first time, I did it solo; this time I did it with my wife.

It was much easier with my wife, as we plan meals and points together. Even when one of goes grocery shopping, we're looking at the nutrition labels and counting points.

So this is my confession of how I temporarily turned into an idiot over the weekend...

Let me preface this by saying I have been pretty reasonable about this WW program- I don't obsess much over exact points or weight, I don't obsess over what clothes I wear for the weigh in.

My weigh ins are on Sunday mornings, and by last Thursdy or Friday I knew I would be close to goal weight for the Sunday weigh in. This is where the idiocy starts.

My goal weight is 158 pounds. What I didn't know is whether it was actually 158.0 or 158.8. so first I go to the WW site, to see if I can find out.
    No luck.
Then I had my wife, who attends the Friday meetings, ask her leader what weight goal actually was- turns out it's 158.0. But here I am obsessing over .8 pounds!

Saturday morning, I weigh in on the scale at home- 158.4 pounds. And I have no idea why I have to reach goal on Sunday, but I get it in my head that I MUST do it. So for lunch, I have a low fat hot dog and low cal bun (2 points total).

Mrs. Tantor comes back from work that afternoon, and wants to know what we should do for dinner. I tell her I'm not eating dinner- she rolls her eyes at me; she later makes dinner for her and the kids. I wind up eating a few strawberries for dinner.

Saturday night, she mocks my obsession and tells me I shoud pull out our postal scale and weigh my clothes for the sunday weigh in. As I am in an altered state (due to starvation or dehydration), I think that is a brilliant idea.
Were any of you aware that underwear weighs 3 ounces?

Sunday morning I wake up, (have no water no coffee) put on the lightest clothes I have (t-shirt, volleyball shorts, and yes, I wore underwear), and head down to WW.

    Weigh in: 156.8 pounds.

I celebrate by going to Coffee Bean and getting a vanilla latte (6 points). And later that day I had half of the slice of cheescake that was earlier taunting me (5 points). So much for flexpoints for this week!

I share this story with you all in hopes that you do not get to the depths of stupidity I attained.

I think I'm going to go out and buy a new pair of jeans this week.

How are the meetings, Tantor? So far, I've been doing the whole thing online, but have been thinking that maybe the meetings are the way to go?

I guess the quality of the meetings depend on the person leading the meetings- Mrs. Tantor loves the leader at her meetings; my leader is ok.

What I get out of the meetings 2oony, is the accountability. If I didn't have to go weigh in at the meetings, I probably wouldn't be as careful with the points throughout the week.

The other thing I gain out of the meetings is little tips from other members- ie, types of foods that are low in points.

Tantor -- 158?! Wow! Great for you!

BTW, I had the Applebee's Mandarin Chicken Salad (5 points?) on Friday and thought it was quite tasty. My 10-year-old friend and I had decided to skip appetizers in order to save room for desert, but after the salad I didn't want any. (She didn't want any after her Oriental Chicken Roll-Up, either, but I don't think that was on the WW menu.)

This last weekend my parents were here and we went out to eat and for some reason the waitress thought we need a ton of bacon, she kept bringing us more bacon. I had not planned on eating bacon but had already looked up the points on it, and had planned me day so I knew I had points to spare so I had a piece of bacon, just like that. I didn't expload or anything. I have drinking a ton of water and hopefully will start back doing some exercise too. Congrads to everyone is trying to make a difference in themselfs.
