I said I would not waste anyone's time on the artistic merit of the decision to add Disney characters into 'it's a small world'. But the next part ;) ... I did intend to go into a history of other attractions.

    Sorry for the typo.

What you just said was the only people who matter, when it comes to 'it's a small world' are KIDS.

You know .. the ride is meant to entertain all age groups.

Why do posters fall into this trap in so many conversations that Disneyland is meant "for the kids" - only.

I see it over and over again.

You old foggie posters :~ should know better when it comes to the audience intended for Disneyland.

Hmm! Oh, okay, So I'm spinning this.

    Whatever.

I know you don't appreciate the higher standard I'm trying to speak from.

But if the Disneyland experience is just a "meet guest expectation" is good enough for you, as apposed to exceeding them, Fine.

So do me a favor .. and let it go.

Many here have heard what I have had to say. Some understand what I've been trying to say .. others prefer to hold to their own gun on their own beliefs, and that's fine.

Oh please. Give me a freakin' break. Talk about letting it go. Most everyone has let it go, except you and a couple of others. You're kidding yourself about this whole seeing the light nonsense. Disney will do what it will do to make money.

You lead off with a horrible example. DCA *was* classic Disney magic that wasn't given time to mature. Now they're turning it into a giant Pixar character-fest.

<<Sleeping Beauty Castle's 1977 dioramas have been replaced with the attraction's first and original "art design" from 1957.>>

And yet SB castle retains the pink/pastel paint job.

<<Space Mountain's (now deemed - "classic") white cone exterior made it's way back into Tomorrowland, after a few years in it's brown - 1998 motif.

Tomorrowland's ill-concieved "brown, bronze, copper" paint scheme of 1998 is being "washed away" .. as more and more classic futurism makes it's way back in .. with whites, and hints of blues, and silvers .. much like WDW's TL from 1971 to 1993 ..and to TDL's current TL.>>

Paint isn't going to fix the bigger problems of content.

<<In 1993 in order to blend into the new neighborly Toon Town .. 'it's a small worlds' exterior was painted various pastel shades .. very much like DLP's. ONLY to have that decision overun by newer managements (just like all these other attractions) ... where the "classic" white design was brought back, and the color exterior now a thing of the past!>>

Yet they added those "horrible" characters, right?

    <<NEXT.........

Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln is reported to have more of it's "classic" appeal REINSTALLED with Royal Dano's voice of the original 1965 "Abe's" voice to trump over the new voice used in 2001!>>

While it's nice that Disney is putting so much back into this show, I can't help but wonder how many people will really care.

    <<N.E.X.T. ..............
The "DL Classic attraction" Submarine Voyage was brought back to life! Putting the show they installed aside .... Imagineering wanted this CLASSIC attraction brought back to life .. after nearly a decade of being left to disintegrate.>>

What do you mean characters aside? If there was no character show, I rather doubt they would have brought the subs back.

    <<HOW ABOUT ANOTHER?
The Enchanted Tiki Room. Many people worried that the show would be taken out. By either TDL's show .. or WDW's "New Management". Instead ... the decision makers of DL in the 90s who let the attraction rout ... was BROUGHT BACK to it's CLASSIC appeal .. by lovingly restoring it perfectly as it was in 1963!
Thank you Matt Oimet (newer management) .. and a big "BOO" to the previous managment who let it rout.>>

But Disneyland doesn't exist in a vacuum. The other Tiki rooms still exist in their altered forms (and didn't they change Tokyo's recently?) Just because they kept one doesn't mean they're about changing things.

<<I have provided examples of one creative decision that brought change in one (seemingly good, at the time) form .. to LATER be rectified!>>

Get back to me when they change back IaSW, PotC, TSI, the Jungle Cruise, the treehouse, etc.

Some fo your examples don't hold water.

"Sleeping Beauty Castle's 1977 dioramas have been replaced with the attraction's first and original "art design" from 1957."

Somehow I don't think the current dioramas count as classic in any sense of the word. I sure don't remember the animated scenes from before.

This is a far bigger change than Small World.

Not quite as it was in '63. A song has been removed and it's never been changed "back". Just been fixed up.

Disney land will change back....if they perceive that what they did isn't successful enough. There's no reason to think this is the case for Small World (and Pirates),

"Why do posters fall into this trap in so many conversations that Disneyland is meant 'for the kids' - only."

We've been on the ride. It's overly cutesy dolls singing a cloying song.
