If you keep an eye on the AP site on disneyland.com you can often catch an extra discount. The caller has to mention the code, even if there is an extra discount the CM can't offer it.

I was told that if they run out of AP8 rated rooms of a type that you want, you can keep calling to check upon cancellations. Of course it kind of all depends on who you talk to, though. I remember talking to another cast member that sounded a little put out that I was hoping to better my rate and that it wasn't going to happen. It didn't, but that still wouldn't prove there wasn't a chance.
