We are on a "family talk" plan with Cingular. We added the kids for $9.95 each. They are not allowed to text message, IM or e-mail with the phone. Neither has a camera phone....only the inexpensive one you get with the program. Every month I scrutinize the phone bill to see where and when they are calling. We have plenty of minutes so we end up with lots of carryover minutes. Giving the kids cell phones works for us.
