Thankfully, I was brought up by parents who allowed me to make my own decision regarding what religion, if any I chose to practice and based on my observations I chose agnosticism. >>FaMulan: You show no respect for a pluralistic society in the way you slander Right Wing Christians. You call them extremists. You don't include Right Wing Christians into your definition of "all faiths".<< OH REALLY? I'm not the one defacing churches, mosques and temples becuase they disagree with my beliefs. I believe that everyone should be allowed to practice what faith they chose or were brought up in as long as it does not harm anyone or anything. Right Wing Extremist Christains and Extremists of all other religious stripes would do good to keep that in mind. And so should you, woody. I show my respect for all faiths by not trying to force my beliefs on others and by showing individual people the respect they deserve. Overly loud, Bible Thumping types who practice the deadly sin of Pride don't get my respect because, THEY DO NOT RESPECT ME!

Yet, you go into this rant about how Right Wing Christians are imposing their beliefs onto others. This is slander. The ACLU is imposing it's liberal religious beliefs on others whenever it presents a lawsuit.

In real life, no Conservative Christian will do this. ----- Yep- "When I said during my presidential bid that I would only bring Christians and Jews into the government, I hit a firestorm. `What do you mean?' the media challenged me. `You're not going to bring atheists into the government? How dare you maintain that those who believe in the Judeo Christian values are better qualified to govern America than Hindus and Muslims?' My simple answer is, `Yes, they are.'" --from Pat Robertson's "The New World Order," page 218." Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson and other TV-ministers and Ultra Conservative types: Believe the way I want you to or you're a bad person. I was raised in the Roman Catholic Church until I was 10 years old and in that time I was taught that the Christain Church was one of love and understanding, imagine my dismay when I started learning of Christain perpetrated hate-crimes against people who did not believe in the same things as them. I also come from a mixed heritage, both nationality and religion wise. My Maternal Grandfather was a Jew who Married a Catholic woman, my Mother was raised Catholic yet was exposed to the more ancient religous traditions of Judaism. My Father was Protestant, who converted to Catholicism to marry my mother and still married her even after they were told they couldn't get married in the Church because he'd been previously married and divorced. At 10, my Mother had had enough and allowed my sister and I to explore and decide for ourselves. I chose to not practice a faith at all because of things I discovered in my explorations. I married a Jewish Man, also from a mixed heritage, but raised Jewish and now we celebrate both our mixed heritages by celebrating Jewish and Christain traditions WITH ABSOLUTELY NO CONFLICTS. My current circle of friends probably includes people of various faiths including paganism, I wouldn't know because I don't limit myself to knowing only one type of person. I also do not judge people based on what they worship. You can worship a carrot as a diety as long as you respect my right not to. I see value in all people unless they disrespect me.
