I don't always agree with Jim, but perhaps they could make a series of the shorter fairytales as shorts to run theatrically with family movies, that could then be comiled as a DVD in the future. This would then add a line of secondary Princesses to the Disney canon who could be used for merch etc. either with the existing Princesses or on their own. Just a thought!!!

Made a star out of a young Carol Burnett in the early 60s. In fact, it was just remade and shown on 'The Wonderful World of Disney' a month or so ago. All fairytales are pretty thin, story-wise. 'The Little Mermaid' was a great adaptation of the original, as was 'Beauty and the Beast.'

Originally Posted By u k fan I agree - particularly with Rumplestiltskin and The Little Match Girl, but neither of those are Princess stories, noy many on your list are. A lot of the stories you mention have been done in one form or another either by Disney or someone else, so I don't know if they would tackle them. I would say that Rapunzel, is probably the last of the really famous Princess stories for them to tackle. That doesn't mean that they won't do more Fairytales, just that they might not feature Princesses so much!!!

There's no doubt that THE BLACK CAULDRON could have been done much better from how it turned out. The studio was is such a confused mess at the time we were in production. Oh, well... ORWEN: I was also thinking that HANSEL & GRETTLE needs to be done by Disney!! Just think of all the fancy little Ginger Bread housese they could sell at the theme parks--if only they'd go ahead an animate THAT one!!

Maybe it could be revealed, later, that SHE was the witch--who led a double life luring innocent children to a ginger bread house. ORDDU: That would be sure to enrage SOME people though. How about a nice mother with an eating disorder--who ended up eating the witches house to the ground--as revenge for taking the children? ORGOCH: Hmph!
