They let you drink as much water as you want and even have cups on top of the fountain so that you can just fill one up and go. Every nurse that has ever been in there when I've gone in has been super nice about it and many even joked about it being the cheapest water in the park or along the lines of it being free so be sure to get your fill. :D I've never been so bold as to ask to fill an entire water bottle, but I suspect that they would be okay if you did. Since I have stodd there and downed three cups of water while chatting with the nurse before.

And the reason I go there is because it's the only fountain in the park that the water comes out nice and cold, which I find tends to help the flavor of any water, tap or bottled.

Our kids grew up here but 3 now live in Davis, Sacramento and Elk Grove. They refer to their tap water as sludge and it is nasty tasting. Our other son lived in Davis for 5 years and then moved to Walnut Creek. They had a hard time re adjusting to being able to drink water from the tap. It's funny now to watch all them at our house. They automatically go to the refrigerator for water. I end up with water bottles all over the house. Maybe I should hide them next time they come and see what they do :) Our grandson will probably tell stories of going to grandma and grandpas house where they drink water out of the tap! Almost akin to having an outhouse :)

For our trips to DLR I bring water, even for the coffee. When we go to the buffeterias I'll get a cup of ice with some water. The water with the fountain drinks is filtered, right? Or do I just imagine it tastes better.

It just seems really funny to me that, no matter how bad it tastes, people will pay money for water when there's perfectly healthy stuff coming out of the sink. Sure, it might taste funny, but if you stick with it, you will get used to it. And it's a whole heck of a lot cheaper than constantly drinking from a bottle.

There are two refergerated fountains on the porch of the Plaza Pavillion. Located on each side of the main entry, each has a fountain and a tap which accomodates re-filling bottles.

The Plaza Pavillion is the closed building with the long porch on the upper level at Coke Corner.

I have a 16 year old granddaughter who calls it DL's best water. She also says the price is just right.

Actually, folks, there is only one there. If you think you see another one, it is a mirage.

Ohh this made me laugh! Davis water is nasty. In fact I bought one of those Jonathan shower filters because it felt gross to even shower in it! And I have empty water bottles all over my apartment! Ha.

I found that amazing. I thought all municipal water had been floridated for years.

I don't like to use the water fountains, for reasons mentioned here already, but I have been known to fill up my water bottle at the Plaza Inn.

Just now, when I read "water fountain" I flashed on the movie in the Opera House and the little girl with the rosie cheeks, on opening day, getting her drink of water.
That scene always makes me thirsty :)

So usually I will get at least a 12 pack of bottled water for out hotel room - Its a fraction of the cost of $2 a bottle - Like $.50

Yeah for Roseville!!When I moved to Roseville 5 years ago I was so surprised at how good the water tastes here.I feel spoiled.
