SPP has a job where the impacts of poor judgment are big and the stakes very clear. But even in my average, everyday job, I see just how dysfunctional so many people seem to be, how incapable of the smallest decisions they are. It's amazing how many people, in their personal relationships - supposedly the most important people and things in their lives - act as if they are still in high school. One-upmanship, satisfying their own outrage, getting even for hurt feelings, etc., all seem to trump having a life of meaningful connection, peace, love, and partnership for so many.

Individual people might outgrow the petty, cattiness. Or they might just learn better tactics to get out of trouble, or still be seen as the good guy.
